Coconut Oil for Scars?

Has anyone used coconut oil for scar prevention/reduction? A friend of mine swears by it for scar treatment.

Ooh - hadn't thought of it for scars. I absolutely love it so I think I'll go ahead and try it. Can't hurt!

I haven't tried it on my scars...yet...I have been using it to oil pull, and the last few days been putting it on the ends of my hair and I love what it's done for my hair. It's so soft and not frizzy! I read that it works great on scars, even cellulite, so I am going to start trying that at the beginning of the year

I love Coconut oil.. but haven't used it for skin yet. I want to know if work too?

I just bought some Bio Oil today to start massaging into my breasts to prepare for surgery.
Any one else doing this or did that? Did you think it helped vs if you hadn't?

I use coconut oil like lotion. Literally, I rub my body with it. My family is from the islands and I grew up making my own oil and using it as a moisturizer of my skin and hair. It helps to fade my acne scars and even out my complexion so give it a try for scar therapy.

I didn't use it for myBa since i was already pretty "stretched" from breastfeeding and didnt get Sm from that but I swore by it for my pregnancies! And I only got a few when I was using it and those disappeared quick with it.

I use coconut oil as an all over moisturizer. I'll have to definitely use it after my BA and see if it works.

Any type of good oil will help your skin as it stretches. Grapeseed oil is another good one. Oils will not prevent your body from hyperpigmentation though...that is just hereditary factors and the only thing you can do for that is make sure you dont tan for 1 yr and lather with spf.

I use Palmers Oil first, avoiding scars, as PS said to only use Polysporin on scars. Neck, under arm pits, stomach, anywhere skin would be streched from. Then Aveeno Daily Moisturizer on top. It stays on all day, doesnt get clothes greasy. Love it!

I use coconut oil as an all-over body moisturizer, always. I switched over to using only organic coconut oil on my scars about 2 months out from surgery, and even my PS was impressed with how everything healed up! I felt it worked much better than their expensive scar cream they sold me, without any questionable ingredients.
