Exclamation How to tone up without losing weight or the girls

How you tone up the belly, butt and thighs without losing weight and therefore losing the girls. Had a real emotional day yesterday with thinking that I went too small on the ladies and almost thought that if I gained 10 lbs they would get biggers....then I realized how crazy that sounded.

What are your suggestions? Sit ups? Walking?

I know that some ladies may disagree with me, but IMO, it would take a heck of a lot of exercise to make you lose weight so don't worry about that. I don't.

Personally, I find that strength training/weight bearing exercises not only will tone the body, but if you look at it "technically", will actually make the poundage on your scale go up a bit. Muscle weighs more than fat. I am always trying to gain weight, and have been quite successful (I have gained approximately 6 lbs during the past year because of strength/weight bearing exercises.

Walking? That goes without saying. I do a brisk 40 minute walk on the treadmill every day. Sit ups? I haven't done those since I was in high school. They really aren't very friendly for your spine. There are other exercises that you can do for strengthening your core.

My advice to you is to hire a personal trainer, or heck, if you aren't new to exercise just start searching the web. There is a plethora of exercises out there for you to try.

If you are new to an exercise program, it's best to check with your doctor before beginning anything.

Have fun and enjoy. I mean that ... if you don't "enjoy" what you are doing, you won't keep up the routine.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there is no way to spot treat your bod when it comes to losing weight. If youre working out, no matter what, you will lose all over/tone all over. You can do specific exercises to tone the butt and legs, etc MORE than your arms/chest area but like I said before no matter what your whole body is going to respond.

I lost weight after my BA and the good thing is with implants you will never "lose" your boobs again like you would pre BA but yeah they might get slightly smaller if you had a lot of natural breast tissue to start with but as your whole body shrinks the boobs look BIGGER because your waist gets smaller etc. I love knowing I can workout as much as I want, lose as many lbs as I want and my boobs will always be there looking fabulous

You can't spot reduce but strength training will help you gain muscle. I would just skip cardio (or do less cardio) altogether and focus on strength exercises.

Sorry, but I have to disagree here. No matter what our "weight" situation is (i.e. whether we want to gain or lose), all of us should be doing cardio exercises ... whether it is brisk walking, jogging, running, swimming laps, cycling, dancing, tennis, etc. Find cardio exercises that you enjoy doing (perhaps a combination of them) and make them a part of your lifestyle "routine".

Heart disease is the number 1 killer of women. Let's try to change that figure.

Do cardio and do weights! The skinnier you are the bigger boobs will look. Your real boobs are just fat and you didn't have big ones before so why would you get big ones when you lose weight. When I gain weight it never went to boobs. Straight to butt. Everyone needs cardio. Doesn't do you any good to have big boobs if you end up needing a bypass. Those are some nasty scars

Have you tried spinning? I was lucky to find a great instructor and stuck with it for months before having my TT surgery last Friday. It toned me all over, mostly legs and but.

I did not lose a lot, maybe 3-5 pounds but I was dieting a bit also. The resistance involved with the pedaling really built my muscle up and slimmed me out. I always thought spinning was just cardio but that's not the case, at least not with my class. And it's fun!

I have the same fears as you, that maybe my BA just makes me look heavier but it depends on the clothes I wear...no more stripes for me! Lol

HTH!!
