I was talking to someone at work the other day and they said that since my breasts are not saggy and they are already full and perky that it's going to hurt worse and take longer to recover. She said that I already look like I have fake boobs and that since the skin isn't stretchy that they won't drop quickly and that they'll be exremely painful. Did any of the ladies already have a little boob and/or perky breasts before you got your breast augmentation? She scared me! Thanks! Steph |

I had perky small boobs and my recovery was nothing...I was driving on day 3 and I felt fine the whole time. It is a little bit tight but I wouldn't say that it was horrible at all. I am over a month out and I have a lot of jiggle already, one is still a little harder but it feels fine! I have Saline unders, if that helps! I think that you will find that everybody feels differently about the pain, some have very little, some have a lot and other in between! So it really depends on you. Oh also, my PS thought that I would have that shine you see with the stretched skin, but I only had that for about 2 weeks, now completly gone! Hope this helps you, I think the main thing everybody says is the pain (whatever it may be) was worth it to have boobS!! Tracy |

I think it's all just how your personal body reacts. There are TONS of ladies on here who went from absolutely flat. And a good amount of them didn't have any problem with the pain. I was in a lot of pain, but I doubt it had anything to do with how small I started out. It was mostly how my muscles reacted to having implants under them.

Sounds to me like another case of someone trying to either scare you or is so uneducated about breast augmentation's that they feel the need to expound falsehoods to people to make themselves look better. In any case, your recovery will depend on you as everyone is different, but nothing unbearable and you will have pain meds for afterwards to use if you need to. Dont let naysayers scare you!

I had small but very perky boobs before my breast augmentation. I had them done under the muscle and I had a lot of pain. I don't think it has anything to do how perky they are but how your body reacts to it. My ps called me a delicate flower, and I have to agree it was painful, and still 10 days post-op I still have painful discomfort. But I do not have any shine like I had after my surgery, it lasted like a week. Don't listen to people who have no clue, but listen to your body "she is the one who knows" I do have to tell you one thing......It was worth it, all the pain was worth it!!! |

i also had small but perky boobs. i got unders. i did have alot of pain & i thought i recovered a little slower than most girls here but i dont think it had anything to do w/having perky boobs. i agree w/the other girls that it depends on your body & pain tolerance. dont let her scare you. the temporary discomfort will be well worth it when youre all healed. xoxoxo

Pain is such a subjective thing - we all feel it differently. I can't see why the size/perkiness of your boobs pre-op would bear any relation to the pain afterwards? My little boobs were described as 'youthful' by my PS (which made my day - I'm 34 and have had 3 kids!!), and I think I probably had average pain post-op. I got a bit of shine but not too much, but that may be because my boobs have already been 'stretched' 3 times previously with pregnancy and breastfeeding. I wouldn't worry about it. Tam x |

Mine were very small but very perky pre-op, and I found recovery a breeze - didn't have what I would call pain at any time... just an uncomfortable full and stretched feeling... I was back driving 4 days post op, and apart from being careful with lifting and stuff, was back to normal within a week. I don't think I have a particularly high pain tolerance... I don't think it has anything to do with how perky your boobs are before you have it done, more likely the amount of pain you have depends on how your body reacts, what placement you have, and how good your PS is!

Mine were small & perky. I had a pain free time right from waking up in recovery. I had overs. A friend of mine also gave me loads of 'advice' before my breast augmentation, but as she hadnt ever had one herself, I took everything she said with a pinch of salt! x |

thank you guys! yeah i'm sure the placement and just how your body reacts is ultimately what determines the pain level.
