I slept in the recliner for about 3 nites then propped up in bed with pillows a few more nights. I'd say just listen to your body. Everyone is different. Just keep trying till you feel comfortable.

My breast augmentation is coming up in a few days. PS recommends that I sleep up right for the first 7 nights. I would check with your ps office to see what he / she recommends.

I had a BL/breast augmentation, and slept propped up for a little more than a week. I am just now at one month feeling comfortable enough to sleep a little on my side.

My PS said to try sleeping on the back for a week - not a matter of life or death - but ideally. I'm at day 6 today and *sick* of sleeping on my back. Think I may experiment a but tonight to see if I can find some kind of compromise, propped on, around and on top of my multiple faithful pillows... It *did* help having a foam wedge in bed, the pillows and Tylenol PM though... Good luck! |

I was told to sleep sitting up but couldn't, so just slept on back like normal, it was fine, however VERY painful to get up to go to bathroom. Felt like they were ripping off my chest. So as I stood up completely the pain would go away.

I alternated between sleeping propped up on the couch and sleeping in the recliner for a good week & a half. Once I went back to sleeping in the bed (very much propped up), it was hard for me to get out of bed in the mornings. So, as horrible as sleeping in a recliner may sound, it was actually a relief for me and most comfortable.

I just slept in bed right away with a few pillows. To minimize the pain of getting up just be sure not to use your arms - just your core.

Last night was the first night that I slept in my own bed. I had been sleeping pretty much upright in my chaise lounge but its killing my back! Sleeping in the bed helped my back but I woke up with more pain in my boobs than I have when I sleep upright! And getting out of the bed...well, was ridiculous! I had to call for help! My ps recommends sleeping upright for the first week and longer for those that dont normally have cleavage. He said sleeping on ones back flat may cause the implants to spread apart more! This is NOT something I want as i have a gap there already! I tried the side sleeping but holy moly, that is not comfortable at all. Maybe once my "side boob" isnt so tender I can tolerate that more?!?!

![]() | I am a stomach sleeper as well and didn't think I could go through with it. I am 3 weeks post op and am starting to sleep on my side. The thought though of sleeping on my stomach doesn't even sound comfortable. (hard to imagine I would think that way when that's how I have always slept). I also finally do not have that heavy feeling you get when you get out of bed. They actually are feeling more like part of my body, just a few zingers here and there. So I promise ladies it does get better!!!

My dr recommended that I sleep on my back but with several pillows so I was more at an angle in bed. I had to do this for 48 hours, then I could alternate between the sides and the back. It might also depend on whether you have overs or unders. I had overs so the recovery process was suppose to be easier.
