I Made It! My Recovery Story

I Survived My June 17t breast augmentation!!!!!!

And I thought I'd share my mini-recoery story. My MAIN breast augmentation story from start to finish will be posted in the "Breast Augmentation Storis" within the next day or wo.

I'll start out by telling you what I got:

I started out with a 36-A cup and received:

* Silicone * Natrelle * Style 15 * Midrange Profile * Smooth * Round * Partially Under the Muscle / Dual Plane * 371ccs on Right, 410ccs on Left *

I got the Circumareolar incisions (incisions going all the way around the areolas) in order to help correct some issues with my tuberous breasts.

First of all, this incision helped my PS score (or cut) some internal breast tissue so that my breast / tilssues could open up, almost like an umbrella, and drape over the implant nicely. If he DIDN'T do this, I would have wound up with my small A-cup breast sitting ON TOP of a big round mound (which would be the implant). Not a good sight to see.

Second, this incision allowed him to remove a bit of skin from the tops of my areolas, and thus pull the nipple up and stitch it back to the skin so that it sits at a normal spot on my breast. If he DIDN'T do this, then my nipps would've sat too low on my breast mound. They would've been at, like the bottom.

Now that that's out the way . . . Here's my update on recovery!

I made it through yesterday's surgery feeling FANTASTIC. Surgery ended at 12:15pm, then recovery, and then I left the office at around 2:15pm. Got home at 3pm. I didn't sleep or nap all day, not until 10 or 11 at night. At no point during, before or after surger did I feel nauseous. Everything was really awesome.

My Mood:
I was happy. Fabulous mood. All day I was talking up a storm to all of my family members and my boyfriend. It was nice that everyone was there. We all ordered wings and fries and onion rings; but I opted for a grilled chicken wrap. Ate half. The pain meds kinda kill my appetite.

My Dressings:
I'm not wearing a strap, just a sports bra. I have drains, but they're not even that bad. I thought they'd be messy and would be filling up like crazy but they're not. So easy to hide, so easy to maintain, clean, and not gross at all. I really think they're helping a lot with the swelling.

Painkillers/Meds:
It's been 18 hours since I got home from surgery, and I've taken only 5 painkillers and 3 muscle relaxers.

Pain:

Of coruse I do feel pressure but nothing unbearable. And it is, it's more of a pressure than a pain. It's kinda like how you're sore the next day or two when you go to the gym . . . but the pressure is much worse. But again, nothing unbearable. While I would describe Day 1 as being low to low-moderate pressure, and today, Day 2 as being moderae to high-moderate.

Some Things I Can/Can't Do:

CAN I DO INDEPENDENTLY:
*pee
*hold a glass and drink from it
*unzip my hoodie LOL
*Sit up from a 55-60% incline
*Reach up for objects at arms length
*Write
*Type, obviously
*Wash my face and brush my teeth, but lightly, not too much pressure
*Lift small /light objects - if it's on the floor I bend my legs down far instead of bending my back and using m arms. This really helps.
*Forget about raising your arms over your head.

THINGS I NEED HELP WITH:
*Opening bottles for the first time (after thye're opened I can do it on my own)
*Getting up from anything greater than a 60% angle. It's best when people put their hands on your back and GENTLY push you up.
*Hiccups. They kill like a mofo.
*Scratching various parts of my body. Get a back scratcher. My sports bra is a tad itchy.
*Showering. I don't get to shower until tomorrow, but I"m going to need someone to wash m hair and back for me. Everything else I can do by myself.

Well ladies, I hope this was helful! Feel free to post or PM with any questions!

And happy recovery to the rest of you all!

Yaaayyyyyy!!! I am so glad things went to well for you!! In your case this was much more than just a breast augmentation and it sounds like things went perfectly. Rest and take it easy so you continue on this great recovery path. I look forward to seeing some pics!
((hugs))

Good for you!! Great post!!

You will find that opening tops of things, like caps, etc, gets easier in Week 2. I couldn't do it in Week 1 at all, but now it's not an issue. I'm just coming to the end of Week 2.

Heal well!

Congrats!! I like your CAN/CANNOT DO lists. I agree 100%, esp. about the hiccups! I hardly ever get hiccups but have had them 3 times since my breast augmentation on June 16. I wonder if the meds are hiccup-inducing or something. Weird, huh? Today is Day 3 for me. So far its been the most challenging but mainly b/c of my two dogs; they're bored of me being home and laying around and so they want to play today, which means they're driving me insane! Other than that, like you, the pain feels like muscle fatigue, not actual "pain." I hope you continue to recover and feel great!

I got the hiccups too! Horrible. I hope you don't have to sneeze for a while. That hurt for about 2 weeks.
