When does your energy return?

I am 8 days out and I run a few errands and I have to come home and take a 1 to 2 hour nap. My energy is zapped!!! When will I feel a little better? I'm leaving Tuesday for vacation. AGH!

I think youre gonna get a whole range of responses, as everyone's body responds to surgery differently. Some people were up and about on day 2 and day 4, and some people still felt like they were recovering after 3 weeks. Try to take it easy from now until tuesday, and hopefully your energy is back by then!

good luck =)

I felt energy on day 1 and today on day 2 I am beat really tired. But my husband and I went out last night and so I may have just walked too much or something.

I totally agree with the other ladies! My energy didn't return until 4-5 week mark!

For me, it was one week. Overs vs unders may make a difference in your recovery and energy level. I had overs... and it was day 6 or 7 before I had my energy back!

Well its hard to say because I have had to run around since just a few days post-op. I have 4 kids, so camp, swim lessons, etc. I definitely dont have the energy I normally do and the first week post op had to take a nap everyday, I probably could of this week but didnt have the time. I also think that not working out adds to my lethargy. I will say that every day feels a little better and I sleep a little more soundly at night because I can get comfortable on my side again.

I'm on day 10 and I feel like it comes back a little more each day, but at my post-op yesterday my nurse reminded me not to over do it. I should get up and about, but also rest and take it easy.
