![]() | Post-op Surgical Bra or NO BRA??? Short POLL
Just wanted to take kinda a Poll.... 1) Did your PS have you wear a surgical bra after surgery? For how long? 2) Did your surgeon have you go "bra-less" for any period of time daily? Starting when? 3) Did your PS have you massage? Starting when? 4) How long did you feel muscle pressure/tightness across side and top of breasts? 5) How long did your breasts take to NO feel really firm and soften up a bit? Thanks girls! I know many surgeons have different ways of doing things and I am just curious about the "post-op" programs that some of your PS's have you on. I know where I live there is the "famous" PS named Dr. Lenny Roudner, who I did NOT go to, who has his patients wear NO bra ever....for months after surgery...just light camisoles...He gets a really natural result, but some people think it looks "too natural" and end up getting them re-done to have more height....Then, another doctor around here who everyone goes to, Dr. MEssa, has you wear a bra for 2 weeks, but then NO bra after that....his patients all look amazing!! But my PS, also a great one, has me in a surgical bra for 2 weeks, then starts massages, and has you wear comfy stretchy bras after that....I am wondering if I should just NOT wear a bra for a few hours a day even though he didnt tell me to....just wanted to hear what everyone else's doc has them doing...thanks! |

1) Did your PS have you wear a surgical bra after surgery? For how long? No. 2) Did your surgeon have you go "bra-less" for any period of time daily? Starting when? I have to go braless (24 hours a day) until I get his approval. He wants my breasts to drop down to the correct position before I can wear a bra (he said he normally gives the okay at around 1-2 months... FYI, I see him again next month at around my 2 month mark and I'm hoping he approves me for bra usage then! ![]() 3) Did your PS have you massage? Starting when? Yes. He taught me one massage at the 1.5 week mark and then an add'l massage at the 3.5 week mark. FYI, I saw my PS for an add'l post-op visit 2 days after surgery as well (in case you were wondering). 4) How long did you feel muscle pressure/tightness across side and top of breasts? Honestly, can't remember. I was a lot better by day 3, but I think I felt really good at the 2 week mark. 5) How long did your breasts take to NO feel really firm and soften up a bit? Well, my breasts feel soft now and I'm at the 1-month mark... Honestly, I'm wondering how soft is considered soft. I'm always worrying about developing CC since that's a pretty common complication it seems. Anyhow, it's too early for me to tell as my breasts are still changing... I can't wait til they fully D&F! |

1) Did your PS have you wear a surgical bra after surgery? For how long? Yes...I wore it for the first 2 weeks day in day out..then I was able to wear a wireless bra 'normal bras" ...but i continued to wear mine for several months just because i used it around the house or to bed if i wanted 2) Did your surgeon have you go "bra-less" for any period of time daily? Starting when? No...my PS didn't have me go bra-less at all...but I do go braless to bed...around the house i wear either a sports bra or a tank with a shelf bra inside...but I didn't start going bra-less to bed until a few months post op 3) Did your PS have you massage? Starting when? Yes...I started at my one day post op visit 4) How long did you feel muscle pressure/tightness across side and top of breasts? That one I don't really remember....maybe 2 months? but at the 5th week is when my boobs were extremely soft and squishy and my muscles relaxed the most here.... 5) How long did your breasts take to NO feel really firm and soften up a bit? Well...they started to d&f pretty much right away...gradually each day but then like I said, at the 5th week is when they got extremely soft and squishy...

1) Did your PS have you wear a surgical bra after surgery? For how long? No, my post op was 1 day after the surgery, and after removing the surgical wrap, he told me to go braless until he says that it is ok to- I am 1 month out tomorrow 2) Did your surgeon have you go "bra-less" for any period of time daily? Starting when? Same as above, he said NO BRA until he says so if I wanted them to drop and look good 3) Did your PS have you massage? Starting when? Yes he has me massage "as much as you think about it" but 1 month out, I do it about 5 times a day and he started massaging them at the post op, 1 day after surgery! 4) How long did you feel muscle pressure/tightness across side and top of breasts? 1month out, I still feel tightness/pressure, but less as the weeks go by. I had unders, and went from a big A to a bigC/baby D, so that has a lot to do with the "uncomfortable" days I still have 5) How long did your breasts take to NO feel really firm and soften up a bit? At my 3 wk post op (In 1 month, I have had 3 post ops) me and my PS both could tell that they have softened up a bit |

1) Did your PS have you wear a surgical bra after surgery? For how long? no bra--period. for 6 weeks. only camis with built-in bras are permitted for now. from what i understand, i'll be allowed to wear whatever bras i want after the 6 week mark. 2) Did your surgeon have you go "bra-less" for any period of time daily? Starting when? obviously, for the first 6 weeks he is encouraging me to go bra-less 24/7 (or with the bra-cami) 3) Did your PS have you massage? Starting when? not yet. at the my 6 weeks follow up he will decide whether or not i need to massage (but, i think this is partially because i have small implants--i think the larger implant patients do massage from day one). i have a feeling he is going to say i don't need to massage them....just based on how quickly mine are changing on their own. 4) How long did you feel muscle pressure/tightness across side and top of breasts? i am only 13 days post-op, but i have already dropped significantly and the pressure/tightness is almost gone (at least, i don't really notice it at all anymore). again, this could be because i have small implants...or also because of the "no-bra" rule. 5) How long did your breasts take to NO feel really firm and soften up a bit? again, i'm only 13 days out, but mine are already so much softer!! they are still a bit tight, but they don't feel hard as rock like they did in the beginning!

![]() ![]() ![]() | 1) Did your PS have you wear a surgical bra after surgery? For how long? No - no bra at all for me. I was only allowed to wear camis or tanks with built-in shelf bra. Not much support at all. My PS believed in letting gravity assist with dropping. 2) Did your surgeon have you go "bra-less" for any period of time daily? Starting when? All day, every day, from the very beginning. 3) Did your PS have you massage? Starting when? PS had me start massaging after 1 w post-op, I think. 4) How long did you feel muscle pressure/tightness across side and top of breasts? I think it was around 1 month, but longer until they totally relaxed. 5) How long did your breasts take to NO feel really firm and soften up a bit? The changes were SO gradual..... I could tell a big difference by 3 months, but lots more by 6-9 months. Slinky |

1) Did your PS have you wear a surgical bra after surgery? For how long? -- My PS required nothing.. it was just me, my stitches, steri strips and new boobs.. 2) Did your surgeon have you go "bra-less" for any period of time daily? Starting when? -- I was not required to wear anything at any point.. I only wore bras when I was going out in public, but only wireless... 3) Did your PS have you massage? Starting when? -- I began massaging PO day two. I massaged 4-5 times a day. 4) How long did you feel muscle pressure/tightness across side and top of breasts? -- It took a while for my boobs not to be so high and tight .. I started noticing significant differences around 4 weeks.5) How long did your breasts take to NOT feel really firm and soften up a bit? -- As before, I saw alot of changes after the 4th week.. |

1) Did your PS have you wear a surgical bra after surgery? For how long? She supplied 2 eye hook in the front sports bras I had to wear for 1 week. At my 1 week mark she gave me the okay to wear anything comfy that doesn't have an underwire. I actually prefer the sports bras though, they are so comfy and make me feel safe lol. 2) Did your surgeon have you go "bra-less" for any period of time daily? Starting when? I am not to go bra-less, If I need to I can but she want's me to try and avoid it as much as I can. 3) Did your PS have you massage? Starting when? She doesn't believe in massaging, she claims it only wears down the implant. I somwhat massage them anyways though , just not as vigerously as I've seen.4) How long did you feel muscle pressure/tightness across side and top of breasts? I only felt pressure for the first week, slight pressure on and off the 2nd week. I'm in my 3rd week now and feel very much like myself! 5) How long did your breasts take to NO feel really firm and soften up a bit? I'm only in my 3rd week, but I notice a huge differnce in softness now compared to week 1! I even get a slight jiggle out of em now and then ! |
