I am 9 days out from getting silicone implants. Since last night, my boobs have been extremely itchy and I've developed an itchy rash on both boobs. They are crazy itchy. Has anyone experienced this? I'm scared I may be having an allergic reaction to the silicone implants. Has anyone gotten a rash from wearing their sports bra? or could it be an infection?

I am not sure sense i cant see but i did have quite a bit of itching as well, but i figured it was from the skin being stretched and because it was healing if you ever noticed when you get a scab it itches when it heals i thought it was kinda like that, though if you keep having problems you may want to talk to you doc, i didnt get a rash but it hurt to itch so i tried not to do it, though if you do keep itching it you could just be irritating the skin, giving you something that looks like a rash, if its a new bra im sure you have washed it but one thing is if you didnt when you first put it on there may have been something on it that gave you a rash,....but i would talk to your doc if it does not go away!!

Thanks. I'm hoping it is just the sports bra the doc has me wearing all day except when I shower. I must admit, I just washed it last night. The rash is on my lower half of both breasts. The incision seems a bit irritated, but doesn't look like an infection. I get to take off the steri strips today so maybe i could be having an allergic reacton to them as well. I guess I'm just a worrier. |

Give your PS a call. There are a lot of people who have an allergic reaction to the steri strips. You could also be allergic to the latex gloves used in surgery. Ask your PS about it and see if you can take benadryl to relieve the itching. Don't scratch because it will make it worse. I have also used warm compresses alternated with ice to help the horrible felling.
