My recovery went pretty well. I was really tired and sore the day of surgery. Not much pain because i kept up with my pain meds. Day 2 was way better than day 1. Again, not much pain......more pressure and soreness more than anything and still very tired. Overall my recovery went pretty well. It does vary from person to person. Good luck to you! how exciting. Your day is almost here. |

I'm extremely sore on my left side near the armpit with some vibration near my upper nipple area but its only day three. I haven't experienced any burning as some have posted, thank god. I was really nauseas the day following my surgery, I actually vomited in the doctor’s office after the nurse unwrapped me while staring in the mirror. I also feel very bloated but I've been told that's normal. Vicodin has been my best friend aside from my boyfriend who has been extremely tolerant and absolutely wonderful. I wish that I could flash forward a few months because lifting or even the thought of ever exercising doesn't seem possible but I know it is....

I really think that the pain is bearable. For me, the nausea and fatigue were what killed me. I had nausea from the anesthesia (which went away after 4-6 hours). I also had nausea and dizzyiness from a percocet that I took 36 hours after surgery - I tried to "prevent" morning boob, but instead I made myself dizzy, nauseous, constipated, bloated, etc... I was fine on Day 1 post-op, but Days 2 and 3 were miserable.

Hi there. My recovery was very boring. It went really well and much better than I expected. But I had an explant 6 years ago and that might have helped my recovery. Day 2 was the hardest as I was so tired from not sleeping (the meds), and I could feel more precise pain. But on Day 3 I was off the meds and tons better. Even went out to the store and drove myself. Was exhausted though after a short time and had to come home If you have someone to help you, that is highly recommended. Especially for the first few days.Your day is almost here! |

Immediately after was the worse for me. Day 1 at home wasn't great but at least I slept a lot. Day 2 was worse because I still had no appetite and the pills made me sick. Day 3 I stopped pain pills and started to feel better. As long as you take it easy you really don't feel horrible for long. I tried to do too much day 6 and felt bad again, but it has been great since then and I'd say I am back to normal with routines. It honestly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be looking back. I thought it was bad when I woke up but it just took some adjustment. Plus now its just tightness and discomfort, nothing massaging doesn't help. Good luck! You'll do great!

Also.. My older sister had them done a few years ago she had no pain at all. She told me that she went out the same night, but that was really really stupid. I think everyone handles pain differently...

I had my surgery Friday, and so far the pain hasnt been too bad at all. I would say the next day was the worst for me, but I just stayed medicated and in bed all day. Today, I am actually getting antsy, wanting to get out and do stuff. I may try to drive tomorrow. I bought a huge, soft body pillow at Sams Club b4 my surgery, and it has been the best $12.00 investment I ever made. It has made sleeping much better..

I'm still recovering, today is post-op day 6. I didn't think the pain was bad at all, but tons of pressure. I feel like I did when I was breastfeeding. One thing I highly advise is to have someone with you for at least the first 2 days. And get everything done around your house, grocery shop, even make meals ahead of time if you can. My biggest mistake was not being stocked up on food. And refer to this site often! Helps to have people on the same page. Good luck!

I can say the recovery has not be half as bad as I expected. The day of surgery I slept the whole day. No nausea or vomitting. Day 2 and 3 just real tired and tight feeling. Me left nipple is way sensitive- the right one is still numb.

My recovery was a breeze! I thought it was going to be much worse. I came out of the operating room singing and HAPPY I've had colds worse than my B.A. pain. After the first 5 days you are pretty normal. Morning boob sucks and don't forget to take your pain meds. The more skilled your doctor, less intrusive surgery, and less butcher work he does then the less pain you will have!

I had my surgery on a Weds. My chest felt so tight I could barely breathe. It was actually the tight bandages that caused most of that pain. When I saw my PS on Friday I asked him why he did not tell me it would hurt so much. His reply was if I did you would not have had the surgery. And you know he was right. I guess the people who go out on the night of the breast augmentation are drinking thier painkillers

I had a really positive experience through my breast augmentation. i am on day 13 today. I had to go back in the same day I had it and have another surgery to deal with the hematoma.. So two surgeries within 10 hours of each other... On a scale of 1-10 / 10 being very painful, all considered.. Day one 1.5 .. day two 1.5.. etc.. Waking up in the morning I had some pain around the outside of my breasts, but a pain pill, and some massage and voila- back to nothing.. Mainly pressure.tightness...My incision can be uncomfortable.. lifting my arms.. I still cant heave open a heavy door ( why do they make em so damn heavy anyways??!!) I think your health, your attitude, the extent of your procedures, the skillfullness of your surgeon, the care you receive post op, and how well you take care of yourself.... all play a role in how well you recover. Good luck and happy healing!!

Having a breast augmentation/Full Anchor Lift at 49 y.o. and also my first surgery, I had a very positive recovery. Surgery/recovery 2-3hrs. Back to the hotel. Yes I took a Percocet and napped for a couple hours. Went out to Olive Garden for dinner the same night with my hubby for a nice dinner then straight back to the hotel took another Percocet and went to bed. Went to see the PS in am. all was well, hubby drove us home, he went to work and I dozed throughout the day in and out. The next day I was vaccuming and doing laundry, but that is just me. I did take off five days of work. Did I need it, yes/no? But in the end I'm glad I did. Pressure was probably my biggest issue, and getting in/out of bed. I learned to roll real good. Yes it does depend on the person and how intensive your surgery is. I guess I was very fortunate and lucky.

My pain ranged from 10 to 5 till now, and Im 9 days post op. I have timed my meds and followed the rules by the book from my doc. I am feeling almost 100% now. Pays to eat healthy, not drink, not smoke and do all the things that your body would normally ask of you, except exercise. Its all worth it in the end. My new girls are fab, and can't wait to try on new bra's and head to Mexico have a margarita in a new beautiful bathing suit. Good luck with your breast augmentation!!

I had not that much pain just intense pressure like someone sitting on you for a week, I did have morning boob pain which is waking up with throbbing breasts each day for almost 3 weeks. Day 3 was my wost day. But overall it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Oh I was also short of breath for the first week as well. |

My recovery has been extremely easy. Maybe it's just because i was expecting the worst? I really think moving around helped me the most. I was doing shoulder shrugs in the car on the ride home from surgery and then moved into rolling my shoulders to actually lifting my arms over my head 2 hours post op. I made sure to keep the muscle loose at all times. Also, icing helped tremendously! I loved having the ice on. It felt sooooo good. The only complaint i have thus far is the tightness. It is a little difficult to take deep breaths but it's manageable. Everyone does heal differently though. I think keeping positive and following the instructions given to you are the best things you can do. HTH
