![]() | Restrictions for lifting post-op?
SOOO my PS has informed me that I am not to lift anything over 10lbs for 3-4 weeks but this is impossible! How important is this restriction? I have an 11 month old that weighs 20lbs and I am going to have to lift him before then. The first week I am set - my husband and in laws will be here so that is NO problem! The second week is going to be iffy cause my husband has to go back to work and my in laws may not be able to stay so I will be home alone with the 2 kiddos which obviously means i will need to lift the little one for naps and feedings and the third week I will be back at work so I will have to carry my son into school and back out in the afternoons.... What should I do? Will this be OK? Do I need to try to figure something else out? TIA

I have two babies that are 1 and 2 and have been having to find ways to lift them in safe ways, using my leg/foot and things like that. I wish I didn't have to do this but my husband as well had to go back to work a week after my surgery. It has sucked and I hope I have not caused any damage. I go in to have my sutures removed and will see what doc says about it all. But sometimes I guess we have to do what we have too...I do regret not making sure that my husband could have taken more time off work. I too will be waiting to see what other responses come from this. Good luck and just take it as easy as you can that first week. I also would say for feedings if you can get your hands on a bumbo chair or bebe pod with a tray that can help you with feedings.
