Hello ladies! So it has been 1 full day since my surgery and i decided to weigh myself today because I FEEL heavy and wanted to see what's up. I stepped on the scale and I am 7 pounds heavier than yesterday, the morning of my surgery. I was hooked up to an IV for almost 12 hours, so I'm assuming that I just need to flush all the saline out of me. I worked super hard to be at the weight that I was for the surgery and now am feeling disappointed. I feel swollen pretty much everywhere on my body, even my fingers are all puffy.

![]() | In my opinion, it is probably water retention, fluid build-up, etc...try to drink plenty of water and get some rest...healthy & speedy recovery to you & COnGrATS on your new boobies! |

Sorry to say but I'm still trying to get rid of the bloat!! My Doctor said since I have low blood pressure 80/60 normally they probably pumped me full of fluids.. It's a bummer! I'm almost 3 mths out and still working on it. |

Your weight will definately go down. It can take a couple of weeks, just depends on the person. I felt bloated for about 2 1/2 weeks. I waited to weigh and when I finally did I only gained 2 pounds which was because of the implants. Hang in there girl. You will be back to your weight soon enough. |

Thought I would bump this thread to get any other experiences with bloat/weight gain post op. I have gained 7 lbs since my day of surgery. I'm sure its just water retention but jeez, I'm hating it! Did anyone find anything that helped?

I weighed myself yesterday which was 3 days out and I was also up 7 lbs. I had to take my wedding ring off the day after which is usually big on me!!! I remember my friend going through the same thing. It will go away. Drink lots to flush the narcotics out of your system and banish the bloat. I am also constitapted so that is not helping! Oh well, it will all go away and we will have big beautiful boobies! |

Sucks, eh? I gained 9 lbs and was NOT happy. (only about 3 lbs for the implants ). I was so bloated I look pregnant for the first 3 weeks. It took some effort on my part to lose the weight, but I think most women say it comes off on it's own. GL!

it's impossible to gain that much fat in ONE day.. so.. I wouldn't worry too much about water weight! It will leave on it's own! also.. the key I think is to make sure you drink LOTS of water that way it will flush it out of your system

I had my breast augmentation on 11-13-19 and I have been feeling extremely heavy every since. I am honestly too scared to get on the scale to find out how much I have gained but it feels like about 10 pounds. When I put on my largest pair of jeans that are normally loose they are very tight :-(. I have been eating more like a normal person than I usually do trying to give my body the nutrition it needs to recover. I am 10 days post op now and thinking about really cracking down on my diet again to try and get some of this extra weight back off...which will be especially hard since I can't even go to the gym...

I'm two weeks put as well and still am feeling the effects from it :-( it's depressing so I've tried not to put on any normal clothes. My jeans hurt mu muscles when I tried to button them lol. I can't wait to feel normal again.

I felt like a whale the first few days. Bloated, constipated, blah. My doctor had me drink two bottles of magnesium citrate. Yep. I am on day six and feel much better. The pain meds and annestesia cause lots of bloating so give yourself time. Veg out on the couch and watch an entire day of Golden Girls. Once your pain starts to subside and you can lessen the amount of pain meds you take, you will notice a huge difference. Get up and walk around when you can, pain permitting, and yes, drink plenty of water ![]() xxoo

Girly!! Totally normal and YES it is just water retention and bloating...I'm telling you, my 1st day to 6 days post op pics, I don't look like myself!! I felt like I was 6 months pregger after the surgery. But be relieved, it all goes away, don't worry to much about it, it really passes after a few weeks and just eat healthy (it's good for the healing anyway) and drink lots of fluids. I also started to be active quite early, wich helped..even if it's just walking. Good luck and congrats on your breast augmentation!

The morning of my surgery, I weighed 121.5 and when I got home about 6 hours later I got on the scale out of sheer curiosity. I weighed 129! Today, 4 days after my surgery I am back to 123 and I am thinking this is what I will stay with. I got 339cc both sides and from what I read, that CC weighs about 1.47 lb. I am still retaining fluids, just drinking tuns and tuns of water. I also had a reaction to the meds-bloat and constipation. I know its normal and most probably wouldn't talk about it here...but it's reality. Some of the bloat you feel could be from this as well. Milk of Mag works really well, LOL.
