I'm 3 weeks post op, hugging my 3 year old still hurts as does hugging anyone in general. About how long till this subsides? Its mostly just my right side, which has been tender since surgery. I'm very soft, I have dropped/fluffed a lot, maybe completely since I have overs.

I'm looking forward to the responses on this questions. My bl/breast augmentation is next week and with all the holidays coming up it's going to be very hard to not hug people. We're huggers and I know I'm going to have to ward off people. I was actually thinking about getting a shirt made that had (((hugs))) (virtual hugs) to let people know I'd like to hug them, but can't. Silly?

Great question ~I am only 7 days post-op and went out last night and was worried about the hugging (cause everyone knows I am a big hugger) so just gave quick light ones when a friend that hadn't seen me in a while came up and hugged me so tight I almost started crying and had nightmares last night that I did some damage.

This is probably different for everyone. I was not really comfortable hugging or massaging my breast for about 2 months maybe a bit longer. I am almost 6 months now and still get sore sometimes. Try to be patient, it will pass and you will be loving those girls!! BOL!!

I'm 7 months post-op, and I still have a few issues in this department... At about 4 months, I was comfortable enough to lay on my stomach on a massage table (although the massage therapist offered me an extra pillow to put under my girls - and I'd recommend you ask for one, just in case you end up needing it). I was ok with tight hugs (for the most part - occassionally someone would squeeze just too hard and it would hurt - but not sharp pain) around that 4 month mark too. My biggest issues right now are that the current man in my life will sometimes squeeze them a little hard (but no harder than he would pre-op) during horizontal activities - and it HURTS. I also don't have all the feeling back in either breast. The right side is much more "awake" than the left side - but that was the case from week 1. Lefty is stubborn. Although I have more feeling on the left side than I did originally, it's still "behind" it's right side counterpart. I think I read on this site before my surgery that it realistically takes about a year to completely heal... and I was skeptical of that statement - but now I am a believer. Everyone's experience is so different, but small changes will continue to happen - I know I still experience them. Good luck with your recovery!!!!
