Just wanted to say sorry I cannot help you. I did not have to wear the surgical bra for very long. I was allowed to switch to regular bras as long as they did not have under wire. Sorry to hear you have the bra and strap, Good luck. |

![]() | No strap
Hey, sorry you have both. I didn't have to wear the strap, but I did have to wear the surgical bra 24/7 for about a month, not sure why everyone is different, and this past weekend was the first time I was allowed to go to sleep without anything. That was a relief, but an adjustment all in the same. I would like to say you'll get use to it, but then again, you are truly ready to get back to normal bras. I must admit, after the surgical I went to a sports bra then a regular bra, and I went back to the sports bra for a lil more time. They just held the sisters so much better, so I had to gradually move myself to the bra.

I was told I had to wear the sugical bra for sure for two weeks. Although she also stated that at the first post op if one looked like they did not need to that she would give you the green light for a sports bra. So, I guess it depends on the patient.

HELL NO! I wore the surgical bra with the strap the first day, the next day they took everything off to check it out but it all went back on (and I was glad for it, it was more comfy with everything packed tight), the 3rd day which was Fri everything was taken off including the drains out and I was free to wear whatever was comfy for me. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I have silicone overs, and because they are textured I don't have to massage (thank goodness what a pain!). Best wishes!
