Numb after BA

Has anyone experienced numbness after a breast augmentation. I righty is fine and I can feel my nipple but my lefty is numb, a little more swollen and lower than my righty. I had my breast augmentation 5 days ago.

My armpits were numb since I got transax, and my left upper arm was numb for 3 weeks. Nipples are just very sensitive but no numbess!

Yes, yes, yes!!! I'm numb from my nipples down (i had unders, inframammary incision). My ps says this is totally normal and that sensation can be slow to return and in some cases never fully does. He says that only a few percentage of women loose sensation. How ironic would that be, get these beautiful sexy breasts but can't get any pleasure from them lol. But more than like the sensation will return as nerve endings heal. You said your left is more swollen so it could be the pressure from the swelling is making your breast numb.

I had my surgery yesterday with inframammary incisions and they are definitely pretty numb in the lower portion of my breast but my nipples and tops of breasts feel normal. I'm definitely swollen so hopefully this will take care of some of the numbness as swelling subsides.

I'm 18 days post-op. My bottom half of my left breast is super sensitive....very tingly. The bottom half of my right breast is numb. The top half of my right is super sensitive. The top half of my left is just a little sensitive.

I've heard that the sensation may return weeks/months later. I had crease incisions.

Oh yes! I was and still am numb at 4 wks post op. My left nipple so is mostly numb and it doesn't even get hard very well (it take minutes longer than my righty haha) the bottom of both my boobs are numb too. I can tell its starting to go awasy a little but when i asked this ? on here ppl said it take a long time for your nerves to regenerate so you'll be numb for a while. I have crease incision, so i guess thats why my bottom halfs are numb.

My mom had her breast augmentation done in 1978 and she said that there is still a patch of skin on her left breast about 1 sq inch in area that never regained sensation but this doesn't seem to bother her! She also had inframammary incisions and the area of lost sensation is near the incision mark.

Absolutely...I still have some numb areas and am still occasionally getting those 'zinger'/nerve pains and I am at 10 MONTHS. Most of the feeling came back (and then some in many areas) by the 6th month. I would say that I am def much more sensitive to touch than ever before. It is soo strange...I had a lift and areola reduction, and now a good part of my entire breast is super sensitive to touch...almost like the areolas were pre-surgery! It's crazy, but def not a bad thing... So don't worry, just give it a little bit of time. hth

im 3 weeks post op now, cant exactly tell where my breasts feel numb and where not, its mostly numb down and up its kind of sensitive now, just wondering if its normal that when i get cold my left nipple is reacting to that, but my right is half normal soft half hard, not looking so nice, at this moment my right boob is more down then the other but heard here that that can be normal and will change in time, hope so

Most helpful post. I am very concerned about these issues. I'd hate to loose any pleasurable feelings I have with my current small breasts. But am willing to take the chance.

I'm almost 8 weeks out and I still have numbness in my nipples and lower half of my breast. PS said totally normal and can take up to a year to come back...it took me awhile to get used to it...at first I couldn't even touch my breasts because it just gave me the creeps to touch them and have no feeling, but the feeling is coming back little by little and so it doesn't bother me anymore.

Thanks, for all of your posts and I hope that we all get back the sensation. My husband said well at least you have it in one. I wonder if those who don't go under the muscle have this problem as much as those who go under.

I went under the muscle w/ a lollipop lift on the left breast and a donut lift on the right. Needless to say, the left (the one with more work done) nipple is completely numb and the right is just fine. I do have feeling in that breast, it is just the nipple that does not. I had a c-section 4 years ago and my incision site, where the scar is, is still numb. So, some people regain the feeling, others don't. Only time will tell.

I'm five days post op with overs and both are numb in the bottom half and nipples, I really hope feeling returns...it'd be a shame to lose sensation in my nips, I think my boyfriend would be most upset!

Nerve damage is a funny thing, I've had operations on my legs and one had a patch of numbness for a couple of years but it's all fine now. My other one there are two spots where if I scratch it, I feel it in another part of my leg lol, very odd and strangely entertaining

I'm 7 months post op and my boobs starting feeling normal again around 5-6 months post op. I was told by my PS it could even take up to a year for all feeling to come back. But someone I knew that had a breast augmentation before me said that at 6 months they will feel like your own...and she was right. Try not to worry yourself.

I'm 10.5 months post op, and both of my boobs are still numb from the nipple down. I have overs, crease incision. I would say they're not QUITE as numb as they were 10 months ago, but I still have only maybe 20% sensation there TOPS. I've pretty much accepted that I'll never be able to feel everything there again, and I'm ok with that. They never brought much pleasure in that way before so I won't be missing much. Besides, they just look so damn good, I can't complain!! LOL ;-)
