Massage

When did you ladies start massage? I was told to do it at 14 days post-op. I am paranoid about CC so I have started at day 10. Feels okay and I am listening to my body. Any thoughts on massage? Anyone instructed not to massage? Thanks girls!

My ps had me start 1 week post-op, although I'm not really sure if I'm doing it right. If anyone has pointers on how to massage correctly please share!

I just believe it's very important to follow your ps instructions. He is the expert afterall! Regarding type of massage. Just do what your ps told you. Out of curiosity, and prior to breast augmentation I looked on line for massage techniques. What I found was completely different that what my surgeon is having me do. I do have confidence in him as I have gotten to see his artistry through someone I met who had a breast augmentation/BL with him. My surgeon is having me do exercies where you press both palms together and press. The massage he is instructing me to use starting 8 days post op is using opposite hand/opposite breast over the top and squeezing. I am assuming this is to help them drop. What massage techniques has ps instructed you to do?

10 Repetitions/2 x a day/6 weeks

1. Using palms of your hands place on outside of breast pushing the implants inward, increasing cleavage.

2. With hands at bottom of breasts, using index fingers and thumbs squeeze the implants so they move in an upward direction.

3. Place palms of hands on top of breasts and push implants in a downward position.

There is another exercise that my PS said to do if patient was instructed to. Which, he has not instructed me to do. So, I don't want to put it on here because it is for specific people. If that makes sense.

i think it's best to listen to your ps. remember, they may tell one patient to do one thing another patient something different. it's all on a case by case basis. i know it's hard when you hear everyone else doing something different, but have faith in his instructions. they usually have a reson for why they want you to do something.

Your technique is similar to the one mine suggested. It has made a difference in softness and it has helped me drop a bit. Plus it feels good to move things around in there.

My surgeon recommended massages 3 days postop. It's amazing how quickly they softened after I started massaging. He told me to push down on the tops of my breasts with my palms and to push them together for about 10 minutes a day. I was pretty vigilant with it for about one week and then got really lazy. Now I massage once every 2 or 3 days, for about 2 mins max...which is probably why my lefty is still not as soft as my righty. But yes, you should listen to your ps; some doctors don’t suggest massaging for good reason.

My PS told me to start at 1 month PO. I get lazy to do it sometimes LOL, but i guess its okay because some girls are instructed not to at all and have no problems

Yesterday was my 13 day post op appointment, and PS showed me how to massage. He said to take my hand from the top, cup it around my breast and squeeze. I wonder if the technique differs depending on where the implant is placed. He also had me do a peck strengthener because he said he moved the pocket up higher ???

Anyways, I've been kind of sore for the first time after massaging. Is that normal or is anyone else experiencing that?
