About When Are You Good to Drive After BA?

Hi Ladies!

I'm about to have my breast augmentation next Wednesday April 14th

I'm just wondering about how long until I can drive? I was hoping to give myself three days to five days. The sooner the better! If I don't need to have anyone drive me anywhere I won't

How long did it take you to be able to drive on your own? Thanks

Ask your surgeon for a more specific date, but I think as long as you are NOT on any pain meds (like vicodin or percocet etc) you should be fine. Also keep in mind your comfort zone. I was driving 2 weeks post op I believe and it was at first awkward! I have under the muscle and whenever I would turn the wheel it would feel so WEIRD! not painful or anything just weird, that feeling went away within a few months though, so dont worry. Goodluck with your upcoming surgery....its boobie season! lol

I was able to drive day 3. Stopped taking pain meds day 2. It does feel weird, but as long as you are safe to drive (no meds) I'd think you would be fine.

My ps was super strict about doing anything the first two weeks. So I didn't drive until my 2 week mark and it was difficult. Probably because I got unders. It took awhile for me to feel comfotable driving.

Of course you have to check with your PS but mine gave me the OK after day 5, and I had a lift and unders. Of course I was off pain meds.
But driving was not an easy task so I did as little as possible.
My PS also warned me about being careful because getting into an accident could do much damage. Even a simple fender bender could be harmful due to the seatbelt going across your chest.

I first tried driving on day 4, but it was pretty painful because I drive a manual so shifting was tough. By day 6 I was able to shift mostly pain free

I had my augmentation on March 29 and just drove for the first time yesterday... which was exactly one week after surgery. I can definitely drive alright, it is just hard to turn the wheel sharply and it is kind of a pain to have to do. It is totally doable, but it's kind of one of those gray areas that you shouldn't probably be doing if you were told to take it easy for two weeks. Then again, everyone is different!

Today is my 7th day. I am still on pain meds, but I stopped taking them today so I can drive to class. Once I finished class and came back home, then I took my pain meds. I just know not to drive if ur on ur meds.It was difficult for me (only making sharp turns) but other than tht, it wasnt bad

My ps said 1 week, and i tried earlier and it was kinda hard to turn the wheel all the way around, so that scared me and i turned right back around and waited the full week. If u have to react fast, it just may not be a good idea. I mean everyone is different, guess u have to wait and see.

i drove I believe 4 days after.... felt awkward to turn the wheel and look back. I would hold my boobs with one arm and turn the wheel with the other lol. I made sure not to drive too far tho just in case

Both times I drove myself to work on Day 4 but I also didn't take the pain meds either time (just don't like how they made me feel). I had overs both times so that may make it easier. Like others have said - you may be a little tender the first few days.
