4 more days... 4 more days... 4 more days...

it probably wouldn't be comfortable if I tried now anyway.

I was a tummy sleeper before all of this.
I need to take Benadryl to get me to have a decent nights sleep. I tried sleeping on my side yesterday, it hurt too bad, even with a bunch of pillows propping me up in the right spots. It's driving me crazy. I don't stay at an angle like i need to. I slide down then wake up flat on my back.

Sorry I dont have much help. I feel your pain!

I'm 17 days post op, and my PS said I could start sleeping on my side from day 14.... but I've tried (and tried!), and it's just way too painful. Very frustrating. Not sure if this is how it's always going to feel, or if it's because they are still new and recovering.... not sure if I should be patient, or push through the pain and perservere with the side sleeping a bit more??? Sigh.

I am right there with you girl!!! My back is hurting WAY more than my boobs and I had capsulectomy on both sides, when from overs to unders AND went larger. I am a side sleeper but have to sleep on my back for 6 weeks. My PS said that I can sleep on my side for short periods of time but he does not want me to sleep on my side for 6-8 hours at a time because the implant may heal in a displaced position. I alternate going from bed to couch all night but wake up all times of the night with terrible back pain. It has definitely been the worst part for me even more than the drains I had in for 6 days. I am afraid to even sleep on my side for a short amount of time I tried last night for a few minutes and it hurt and I went back to my poor sore back.

i have been trying to "train" myself to sleep on my back for two reasons! one, because i know when i have my surgery i will have too, and two because you get less wrinkles on your face that way! that's a concern of mine because as we get older we all get em! i fortunatley only have one tiny one so far.

I am a tummy sleeper, and it took me almost 6 months to feel totally comfortable sleeping on my tummy after surgery...even now, at 14 months post-op, i still find myself feeling "stuff" with my boobs when i sleep on my tummy...not pain tho...just being aware of the boobs and a little pressure here or there (i guess its because i never had them before LOL) i remember the back sleeping...ugh it does get better tho...and its beyond worth it

I was the same way. When you are able to sleep on your side again I would HIGHLY suggest purchasing a $10 body pillow from Wal-Mart. When you lay on your side put your leg over the pillow and put the pillow kind of in between your breasts and "hug" the pillow. It is SOO comfortable!! I am almost a month post op and sleeping without that still gives me some pain.

Good luck!

I was also a tummy/side sleeper prior to surgery and am now 6 weeks post-op and actually find myself staying on my back now even though I was cleared to go to my side after 1 week lol.

I had put a bolster pillow under my knees to help take some pressure of my lower back when I first started after surgery and now I do not need it anymore. I do go to my side here and there but do not stay there for very long. I tried once to go on my tummy but the girls did not approve

I'm a week out and still sleeping on my back, albeit at an slight incline. Unfortunately, this leaves my neck really sore in the morning. Did your ps's allow you to sleep flat on your back right away? I forgot to ask during my post-op appt., so I've just continued to sleep at an incline.

I've been sleeping on the side since night 3. I was sleeping 45 degree angle for couple weeks. Then eventually I was comfortable enough to sleep on the sides.

My life saver was the pregnancy pillow (Snoogle Total Body Pillow) I have since my pregnancy from many years ago. I nested inside of it. No extra pillows around me. I didn't have to worry I would try to roll to my stomach (quiet uncomfortable) when I slept on the sides. I tried to wean myself from it. Even after 6 weeks, I just can't part with it! It's sooooo comfortable! I had zero back pain. I was able to sleep through out most of the nights with very little discomfort.
