burning sensation after augmentation

I had augmentation surgery 2 days ago. Pain meds have helped quite a bit, but last night & this morning when I get up from the bed I get an awful burning sensation in both breasts, but really bad in left breast. It feels like hot liquid moving through the whole breast & is very painful ! Wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if it's normal. Have post op visit tomorrow morning.

Thanks for any input!

I never had the feeling of hot liquid moving through my boobs, but I found when I sat up from laying down, my boobs were extra sore. Blame it on gravity - when you're laying down, your boobs shift up, and when you stand up, the move down a little bit. Also, when you haven't moved in a bit, you can stiffen up, and that's uncomfortable too.

Let us know how your post op goes. Good luck hun!

Thank you.

Right now, they are just so sore and swollen...and hard, so my husband is making me up some ice packs, to place above and below the nipples. Hopefully, that will help with the swelling.

The burning has let up a little. They are just really tight. I had my first post-op visit today, and PS says everything is looking great. He took my band away, and taught me the massage techniques. I see him again in a week. I got my 1st shower today too, and it feels great!

I also had pain that I would describe as a burning sensation, especially when I sat up. It will lessen over time as the skin and muscle stretches and then relaxes. give it time. It will get better.

a zinger feels like a burning stabbing pain you get they are usually in one specific area, i would get mine at in my right areola and also an area in the back of my upper arm, i got 4-5 times a day, i had them start from around 1 week po and they lasted about a month for my arm and about 2 months for my areola, i still get them once in a while in the areola. It's the nerves regenerating.

i just had my ba 5 days ago & am also having pain. when i wake up & get out of bed, it's the WORST! then throughout the day, it's been more left-sided. i hope nothing is wrong. sometimes my nipples will start burning out of nowhere...
he really didn't give me many restrictions other than driving...just to take it easy. i know some of the ladies on here were told not to raise their arms, i didn't have that restriction, so of course i'm paranoid that i hurt them in some way.

Thank you!

Mine is more left-sided too. I think it's because of the way I roll out of bed. They still burn some, but they are just so hard! I wish they would soften up some. They feel like they are going to split the skin open. My PS told me to raise each arm over my head, and then count to 10. He says do this at least twice a day. Then, I reach across my chest, and place my hand flat, above my nipple. He says to pull upward, like I'm trying to point the nipple up. Do this for 10 seconds on each side also. They do seem to feel better after my shower, though. Maybe it was all of the arm movement?

Agreed. It's just the nerves trying to grow back and be functional again.

Oh yes! They are VERY big around. They do get in your way, on the sides. Hopefully, when they D&F, they'll come in some. Thanks, and good luck tomorrow!

I did have some similar pain. I was told it was all of my nerves coming back.

ouch

Angel43..... I have the exact same sensation you described. The burning liquid on the left side. I had surgery 2 days ago and it seems to be getting worse rather than better. I know you made this post months ago so just wondering if everything turned out ok??
