I had a benelli with areola reduction and ba a month ago. I am getting upset because my right areola and nipple feels way harder than my left and its also flat, the overall shape when I look at it from the top or the side is just weird. Also I have a lot of hard tissue where the stitches were. Can someone who has had this done shed some light on this for me? I am afraid I will need to have something fixed and I sure won't want to go with the same ps (who is supposed to be great by the way). Thanks ladies I am going ....

Best to consult your ps on this one but is the 'hard' tissue you describe where the stiches were the puckering? I am 3 months post op and still have a fair bit of puckering on the left, righty seems to be coming along nicely.
Have you been wearing any sort of tape/silicon sheets? I wore the micropore tape just up until a couple of weeks ago. Because I want my scars to be as good as possible, I am now applying Dermatix Scar Fade - recommended by my ps. Just rememeber, you are only a month out - it's still early days. I remember one month out I was wondering if my scars were going to get any better, than all of a sudden I could see them fading week by week. Give it time and make sure you are using the micropore tape or a very good scar product. |

Hmmm....have you talked to your ps about your benelli results, and if so, what did he/she say?
As for the "hard tissue", it's probably just scar tissue. Women that get the areola incision (as well as crease and transax incisions) also get this. I have had the crease incision and the transax incision, and I had the "hardness" thing too. I massaged the hard areas everyday, and the scar tissue broke up. It goes away. I assume this is what you have.

benelli lift with BA
I had my benelli lift with BA 6 weeks ago! I still have puckering around the areolas but I notice that they flatten more everyday. I do have the hardness around the areolas... to tell you the truth I just assumed it was the purse string suture that the PS said would be there permanently. But it doesn't bother me that much. I am going to start using scar treatment but my scars so far are pretty light. The biggest thing for my is I still don't have any sensation in my left nipple... so hopefully that will come back. I think as the weeks go by you will see more improvements in your breasts and be happy with the results! Good luck,

Yes Nikki, I think its scar tissue but I am wondering if they'll ever feel smooth again. I guess I have to be patient and wait. |

I had areola reduction on one side too. My sutures were done from inside and they dissolved. My PS told me this would make the scars fade quicker. When I first took the tapes off, can't remember when, but had to be about 3-4 weeks, I was very unhappy with how the scar looked. After applying the fade gel (almost twice daily, for 1 minute each time), I am very happy with the result. I think it will really fade and heal nicely.
My PS told me that sometimes the scars get red, hard, and raised. Fortunately I didn't have any of that. I hope you have the same success, but remember it takes time and you really have be diligent and massage the scars with a fade gel. (Edited to say, of course, only do this upon your PS's recommendation and when he instructs, not sooner. You want the incisions to be closed first.) |

7 weeks post op
I had a Benelli w/implants on Jan 11. The scar on my right nipple is harder than the left, but both are softening up. I am rotating using Neosporin scar sheets with Mederma and they seem to be responding well. I've been told they'll look and feel worse before they get better, so hang in there!
