Having BA then BL in 6 months.

I am having my re-do Oct 26th, going from overs to unders with silicone. This new PS wants to put the implants in let them heal and then in 6 months do the benelli lift. Of course this will cost more but he thinks it is best for scarring and healing, what do you think?? I hope I am doing the right thing!

That's an interesting procedure. My PS never gave me that option.I also have that lift on my left nipple. I do have a scar on my Left Nipple that is very noticable.

My PS claims that putting the larger implant and trying to heal the donut lift will cause alot of tension on the sutures, and I am also having overs to unders with permanent sutures on my left, he thinks its too much to heal at once and scars may not look good. More money but worth it for less scars...I hope.

Personally, I wouldn't want to go through it 2wice! I had a BA/BL at the same time and though the first week was rough, I feel great now at 5 weeks post op. When I had mine done, he did the lift first, then the implants. You have to remember that when they are performing surgery, they are seeing you without any swelling and the doc can already see what you will be like. Besides, 2 surgeries would mean more scar tissue and cutting the same incision again. Can he give you a better answer? HTH

I personally dont want it that way either but.. if it makes me scar better, and I dont have to lose any size, I'll do it. One surgeon would do it all at once but he insisted I use a smaller implant like 350ccs silicone and under the muscle, I would be a C cup. I dont want to spend all this $ and be unhappy with the size.

I know what you mean!! I was so worried, since I was coming from a fullC that it wouldn't look any better! But everything worked out OK!! I understand what you mean though. My PS did say that sometimes it is a process, you have to allow your skin to adapt etc. and that he would only go for as much as he could safely close. So maybe that is part of it for you too. But with me, like I said, I had a lot of tissue and skin so I probably could have gone bigger than 450cc (sometimes I wish I had, LOL)!!

go with your gut, I am sure you will look fabulous when you are done!

As you know I had a benelli lift, nipple reduction and implants all at the same time. I would not do it any other way. I wanted it all to be over with at once. I am sure there are reasons for doing it in 2 procedures but wow...2 recoveries. What about another consult with another PS? How many have you consulted on this? So strange to me how different the doctors do things with the lift and implants procedure. Whatever you choose in the end you will look amazing I am sure. Good Luck

Well other surgeons wanted me to take them out and be implantless for 3 months then replace with the lift! Which I think would be worse. One did offer to do all at once but go smaller, to a C, no way will I pay $9000 and go smalller, he wanted this so that he has enough skin to worl with as I really only need my nipples positioned correctly. SO given this wouldnt you agree getting a re-do and then lift sounds better?

I had a ba and a benelli lift at the same time. I didn't want to go thru it twice and yes, recovery was rough and now I'm having scar revision done. I would go with what you ps says. If you trust him/her.

Question BL & Scaring

Hi ladies, I too wonder about scaring. I am scheduled for a BA & BL with a lolli-pop incision and I am very concerned about scaring. From looking at the pictures in my PS office it doesn't look pretty. He said I could go either way and not get the lift now but would end up needing/wanting it eventually. I am getting Mentor, HP probably 500+cc's. I am 41 years old and breast fed two kiddos. Any advice about the BL would be most helpful. Thanks!

Is it possible for them to give you a Benelli lift? It just goes around the areola instead of the downward scar like the lollipop. Overs can give you a little bit more lift (in the short term) as well. I wonder if the combo of the two would work. Might be worth talking it over with your surgeon or consulting another one.

Well after thinking I myself have decided to do them seperate, better blood supply= better scarring. Alot of people have had great results doing them together but alot have not. I figure its worth the chance to get less scars, in my case I am having them placed over to under muscle, having my crease raised and if I had a lift at the same time the blood supply could lead to poor healing and again= poor scars.

You know I was worried about scarring too, but so far eveything seems like it is going to heal really well. I had a full anchor lift, and though I wish I didn't have to have that big of a scar, the results are worth it!

Well I have had the re-do Ba and turns out I may not have to have a lift, my nipples look good so far! I am very happy I did them separate and if I need a lift later so be it. Plus my recovery has been a breeze, IF it turns out I need a lift in 6 months then it would be such a minor procedure that recovery would be easy as well. Right now I am thinking I do not need the lift, only time will tell.

So you had your ba and you think that it might have ben enough fullness to not have a lift. That would be great!!

For me, my lift wasn't minor, since it was an anchor. I wish I could have done a different kind cuz healing seems to be longer!
