How much does a lift increase pain and recovery time?

I'm still in the research phase of all of this! I see lots of ladies saying they had very easy recoveries and little pain. Lots of times it doesn't say if they had a lift or not. Was wondering how much pain and recovery time (like in bed time) is with a lollipop lift?

Hi, I've had both a lift and augmentation. I was back at work at day 7. I really wasn't stuck in bed at all except for the first day or so. I was fine eating dinner at the table the first night. I didn't have much pain from the lift, the soreness was from the implants. I did take pain pills for the first six days. Regardless, you do have to take it easy and don't do anything that causes pain. I didn't have much of a hard time at all but I did have a lot of bruising. Everyone is different. Some have more pain than others but there really isn't a lot of pain associated with a lift. I'm also an athlete and seem to bounce back quickly from surgeries. Feel free to ask any question you want. I'm now 5 weeks post op and have public albums for when you become a member.

I had a full anchor lift with BA. Overall my recovery was easy, but there were more difficult days. I pretty much stayed in bed the first 2 days. I would get up here and there per my PS instructions. I had my surgery on a Fri morning and my husband went back to work on that Monday, so I was left with my kids from that point on. I won't lie-those first few days with my kids was tough. They are 9 and 5 so they didn't really need a lot from me, but still was hard. I also had trouble with constipation which didn't help and a lot of exhaustion from sleeping on my back and I tend to recover from anesthesia slower than others (which has happened in the past). I would say day 6 was the turn around day for me. I started to feel better and get my energy level back. I could also sleep on my side which helped. Pain actually wasn't too bad for me after the first couple days. Because I'm in the medical field which requires physical work, I took 2 weeks off. Was sore that first week back and work but was tolerable. I will say-take pain meds regularly the first few days-it really helped me, but when you can wean off! That will help with constipation and drowsiness. Good luck!

I had a lollipop lift a year ago and my recovery was hard. I kept thinking what is wrong with me? Everyone on JBI was bouncing back after two days. I've had no prior surgeries and was/am in excellent health. I have no idea why it was hard for me. I really just felt crappy and was shocked at how I looked. I didn't find JBI until after I had my BA so you are ahead of the game!

I've been told that a lift and augmentation is a pretty complicated procedure. So I guess taking a week or so isn't that bad.

Good luck!

My surgery was on 10/10 of this year. I had full anchor lift with silicone unders. The first couple of days were hell. The painkillers (percocet) were not taking away the pain 100%. Today is the first day that I'm not taking any painkillers. I guess today is day 10 if you don't count the surgery day, if you do, it's day 11. The incision pain is still there when I'm walking around. There is also some muscle discomfort, and the morning boob! Thank God I have somebody helping me take care of my kids for the first couple of weeks!

I'm 3 1\2 weeks out from my ba & lift. I was not one of the fortunate ones to have an easy recovery. It's been absolute torture for me I'm just now getting to where I feel normal. My boobs still swell and ache, but at least it's way better than it was. If I weren't typing one-handed on my tablet I'd go into detail about my issues. The good news? Through all of my horror, I have been in love with my boobs from day one

I'll be 4 weeks po on thurs and I still hurt. I was taking pain meds for 2 weeks. Not around the clock but in the evening I would swell and throb. At 3 weeks Im pretty much feeling alright. No pain meds, not even Advil. Until after my sons hockey game today when he whacked my poor right boob which opened a wee bit 2 days ago with his hockey stick. I'm now throbbing again with lightening bolts. Ouchy.

The first 2 days were pretty bad. I stayed pretty doped up on pain killers. The third day I was able to get up, go to the store and stuff and went to the dr. I went to school on the 4th(tue) but I was miserable and my son happened to get sick so we went home and I didn't go back til thur. I was sore but felt pretty good. No pain meds during the day. I went on a walking hike that Mon. and been shopping. I've had to take pain pills a couple times and muscle relaxers but all around feel like I'm ok. Around day 8 they started feeling really achy and sore. I figured the implant was kinda shifting around they feel better with a tighter bra on.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences! I sure wish I didn't need a lift but it is so helpful to be able to hear what it might be like.

I am day 3 post op from a full anchor lift and augmentation and I am doing great! I an pretty much do everything but lift my baby. I barely took pain pills today maybe once or twice and I will be completely off tomorrow. I put a regular shirt on today and I get to shower tomorrow. I am still taking it easy as its very sore still but my recovery is 10times better than I thought it was going to be! But I will say the day or surgery and first day post op was very painful and I couldn't sit up alone!

I had my BA and lift in October and my recovery so far has been amazing. I was off pain pills completely by the 3rd day and was sleeping on my side after the first couple of nights. I was never really in pain (but maybe that's because I stayed on top of my meds), just a little uncomfortable. I had drains which was probably the most uncomfortable part of the process and even that was manageable and laying down and sitting up was a bit difficult but that's about it. I was so concerned about the pain but it was seriously the best thing I've ever done and wished I would've done it sooner. Best of luck to you!

I had my BA/BL 5 years ago today! My recovery was long and painful. There were many days that I truly regretted getting the whole thing done! I ever asked my PS why he did not tell me it would be so painful. He reply was "because then you would not have done it"
The first week was rough and after that it got easier. It really took at least 6 weeks before I was relatively pain free.
While going through the process I thought it was awful. Now 5 years after the fact I am very happy!

My recovery post full lift was SO much easier than the first time around. I thought having the lift would be much harder on my body but I bounced right back. My PS said that the most painful part is creating the pockets for the implants. Cutting into the body like that is more invasive than the lift itself. I couldn't move my upper body for about 2 weeks after my first surgery. After my full lift I was able to walk to my post-op visit (I think it was a 5 mile walk I don't remember).

My PS informed me that its the implants that will cause most of the pain. My incisions were pretty much numb for the first few months....nerves needed to regenerate and such. I think my incisions bothered me the most between 2-6 months. I never had actually pain in my incisions, just more of a soreness around that time. With the BA part it was torture for me the first 6 weeks...was on and off pain meds until about 8 weeks post op. I had to sleep in my recliner for about 5 weeks, and forced myself to sleep in bed after that due to sore spots on my bum from recliner sleeping. It took me over a year to be able to sleep on my tummy again and be comfortable. I truely think its the BA that causes most of the pain.

I'm glad to see it's not too too awful, considering the procedure! I'm already a wheenie about the recovery
