Scaring with lift
I am little nervous about the scaring associated with a lift. Can anyone shed some light on it? Particularly with a lollipop lift.

Reese, I too was very concerned about the scarring associated with the vertical lift (aka lolipop). I still am! I just had the vertical lift with breast augmentation exactly 2 weeks ago. It is way, way too early to tell anything about the scarring. But my PS told me and I've heard a million other places that the scars do not fade until about 1 year, and improve even more after that. I have seen some very scary scars with lifts, and I have seen some that you can't tell are there unless you get in the best lighting with a magnifing glass. Why the difference? My research and my PS has told me one factor is how you individually heal when your skin is cut. Some people simply scar less than others. Another factor is technique. Techniques have improved considerably in the last few years. Also, remember if youre looking at before/after pictures usually they are anywhere from 2 months to 6 months post op. There is no comparison between what lolipop scars will look like after 2 mos compared to 2 years. Also, now they have products like Scarless where they GREATLY reduce the red scarring. So ask your PS on your consults what ideas they have about reducing scars. Sorry so long!!!

I have the benelli lift and my scarring has healed up nicely. My lines are still visable but I think it's due to my dark nipples. They are very noticable but they don't look bad at all... they are not raised or anything.. real flat and smooth.

Reese I had the full anchor lift on 10-3-06. I too was most concerned with scaring. I even told the dr that I was not concerned with the pain at all because I knew that would end, but the scars would be with me forever. I did not see anyone's incisions before my surgery, so I didn't know what to expect. My aerola and vertical scars are very light already. However the crease scar freaked me out the first time I took the bandages off. I felt the dr went way over board on how long they were. But about a month after my surgery my cousin from Louisiana came to visit, she is a nurse and said my dr did an excelent job and I got to see her scars. She too had a full anchor lift. Her's are about 5 years old. They are the same length as mine and are barely noticable. My crease scars are slightly raised and red. At night if I lay on my side it feels like the scars are stretching, some times the sensation will wake me up.
Over all I am very happy with the results from the lift even with the scaring. The only person that will see the scars are you and your significant other. After a while I think you will not even notice the scars. You will only notice how hi and perky your boobs are. I love the way my clothes fit now. I have a digital camera and I know how to download the pic from the camera to the computer. However, I do not know how to resize the pictures. If someone could help me with that I could send you a photo of my scars. |

Hi, I had a Lollipop lift with small implants nearly 8 months ago, the scars have faded alot, you can still see them, but I am sure another year from now, they will have disappered. I think I measured about 21cm from collar bone to top of nipple. My nipples pointed forwards and were at the front of the breast. Very happy with results.

I think the scars running vertically are the ones that have healed the best! They are still noticable, but have improved so much so far that I am confident that they will fade to a light, flat, skinny scar. I am very happy that I got the full anchor lift, I love the shape of my breasts now.

I had my implants with a lollypop lift in august of 06. I can only speak for myself, but both of my breasts seem to healing differently (scar wise). My right side has thin flat scar and the scar underneath the nipple is fading very well. I think by a year that I wont be able to see it so well. BUT...the left.. not so well. The scar is purpleish and seems to be a bit tougher then the other by far. I have used Scargard religiously since surgery and I am still crossing my fingers that they both fade more, expecially the left. But dont let that deter you. I am so much happier with my breasts now even with the scar. My nipples point forwards and I love my implants to death!!! Still the best $6500.00 I ever spend hands down!!!
