I am about 6 mos post op from having my BA...I got 275cc's silicone unders. I am 5'3 95 lbs and had VERY little breast tissue to start with, my PS NEVER mentioned anything to me about needing a lift before he did my BA and then after I had my BA I told him that i'm not happy that my nipples are so low on my breasts and my breasts look droopy (not round at all, which is what I wanted). At my first couple of post op appointments my PS told me to "give it time" and he said that the implant could drop and then they would look more normal. Well, now he says that I was "boarderline" needing a lift and he said he would do a full anchor lift. I decided to go with a larger implant since I am having to go under the knife again and I am not happy with my current size (I am getting 400 silicone unders). I am a little confused
because he didn't lower my creases with the first BA and I think that if he would have done that then I would've had more of a round shape to my breasts. I am also confused because he says that since I am going with the 400's he will be lowering my creases this time and I "might not" need a lift (he will decide when he gets me on the table). So, why is it that he wants to do a full anchor lift if it is so "iffy" wheather or not I need the lift. And also, I paid $5,600 for my first BA and he is charging me $9775 for this second one.....does that sound a little high? I have already paid for the surgery and it is scheduled for June 23rd......if anyone has any thoughts on this please share them with me! Thanks so much!

Well the cost sounds about right (My lift/BA is $9k) but it seems odd that he is charging you the full amount. Did he mention that you were borderline for needing a lift before you had the first surgery? I think it should have been discussed as an option if you were borderline.

Hi Kimberly!
Thanks for your response! Nope, he never mentioned that I was boarderline before the first surgery....he didn't tell me until I was about 3 mos post op. I see that your surgery is just a few days after mine, I hope it goes well! What kind of lift are you getting? |

No i wouldnt say that it is too high, i paid $14,000, for 450cc silicone, a lift, and reduction in the areola... the reasoning for it being so much more is because its a longer procedure, average surgery time for just implants is like 45 min, for the lift and everything else, is 2 hours or more, so you got a pretty decent price... good luck!

I would check this out prior to getting a full anchor lift as this procedure is for major ptosis (sagging ). If you are only boarderline for a lift then maybe a donut, benelli or a lollipop but not the full anchor. I had severe sagging and I only had a lollipop. Please check this out as you will have more scar than necessary. All the best and take care.

I agree with Charly about the full lift. I think you should get a second opinion. What size where you prior and after implants? You have a very tiny frame and 400 will put you at least 2 more sizes. It is all about you preference though. I have 275 also, I am 5'3, 115lbs and I am a 32D.
Did you research the surgeon well? I ask you to go on other consults. That price also seems awfully high for Alabama. But this is just me assuming again. I got lollipop lift, implants and pocket suture from previous surgery in savannah, ga for 7,680. Hope everything turns out well. |

Thank you for your response! I started out 32 A and now i'm 32 D. I didn't research much prior to surgery but since the surgery I have found out that my doctor is suppose to be one of the best around here and has many certifications. I just hope my redo turns out well. Thank you for your help!

When I first went for my consult with my ps he said I didn't need a lift b/c I had very mild ptosis however, after my BA I wasn't satisfied with how my nipples where pointing down. I recently had a revision on my right breast pocket b/c the implant wouldn't drop and he gave me a crescent lift. He didn't charge me for the lift or the revision. I only payed for the anesthesia and the OR.
My PS informed me that if you have a mild case of ptosis then you do NOT need a full anchor lift. You would either need a crescent, benelli, or lollipop lift depending on the severity of the case. If you don't feel comfortable now with the way your nipples are sitting more than likely you would feel the same if you get bigger implants with no lift. You will end up having larger saggy breasts. I can now see a big difference in my boobs since I got a crescent lift. Also keep in mind that the larger the implant the heavier it will be which means there is a greater chance that they will begin to sag sooner. HTH

I also agree with Charly- If you are only borderline, then I can't imagine why your PS would suggest a full anchor lift. I was also bordeline and my PS suggested a Benelli. I would definitely get a second opinion- it wouldn't hurt. I paid $8000- for my lift and saline implants (he wanted $9000 if I opted for silicone). I'm surprised that your PS would charge you such a high amount for the redo when it's kind of his error- he neglected to tell you that you are a borderline lift. Did you try to negotiate the price at all? It's a shame that you have to go through this. I wish you the best of luck.
Dee

I am also skeptical re a full anchor for borderline droop. I also have the same issues as you do and I am thinking of getting a cresent lift.
I'm in Canada and paid $9000 for a mini tummy tuck and BA. I think the BA portion would've been $5500 on it's own. My PS is willing to do a cresent lift with no charge and replace my implants with larger ones, I only have to pay for the implants themselves. I am not sure if I have to pay an OR fee which might be $600.....but very fair I think. |

hi
hi,
i had my ba 4/28 my left breast was a little saggy, i lost weight in a two month period because of medication, i have very thin skin i never had kids, until that i was a full C cup and after the weght loss i became a B cup,so i decide to do a ba, the ps told me to do a lolipop lift,he was right, now it look very nice, i will i hope get pregnant this year or next year ,and i know that having the lift was a good decision, i cross my fingers that the pregnancy will not affect to much my lift, but its worth it, i m so happy i did it at the same time then the augmentation,so i dont have to have two separate operations, anesthesias, recovery, yes it was a little pain i got saline implant, the augmentation didnt hurt,i got255cc on the left and 265 cc on the right, but the lift it did hurt a little like burning, and also got bruisses, but all worth , i m sorry that your surgeon didnt told you when he first did the augmentation, i was in the hope that the implant will help for my little sag,but he said i need the lolipop, so itrust him ,and i m very happy with the result, and the $3000 for the lolipop was all worth it. take care, |

I am 115 lbs, was 34b before BA, with very mild --almost non-noticeable droop-- I wanted larger/fuller breasts. 5/16/08 I got 420cc mentor salines filled to 500cc (high profile) the ps told me that the high profiles would take care of the mild droop. Now I am 34D and changing every few weeks.
I now regret not getting the lift -"donut"- another ps told me to wait until the swelling is completly down. my suggestion is do your homework, talk to other patients from your ps, perhaps at the lobby while waiting. Many girls will tell you what they liked or disliked about the procedure or doctor. Last edited by 34D-California; 07-12-2008 at 12:37 AM. Reason: add size after ba. |
