before or after pregnancy???
Hello Ladies! This is my very first post so I just wanted to say HELLO and I think all of you have beautiful results thus far! I am on my way to having my new ladies in place and I am so excited! In my former life I was a very large person - over the past 2 years I have lost 111 pounds and then had a baby..though I am currently back at my thinner prepregnancy weight. As you can imagine, I have sad saggy boobies now. I have spoken to one surgeon and she told me that I would probably need both BA & lift - but was likely to need another lift down the road as they are not normally permanent. Im sort of OK with that - however, I am not sure I am done having kids at this point - I am only 30 and would love to have another baby while I can. I just wonder if it would be best for me to wait until I AM finished having babies. Have any of you had children after BA and/or lift and how has it changed your results??
Thanks for your time and have a happy 4th of July weekend! :0) XA |

I also would like to hear what others have to say about this. If you are planning on having children in the near future, I would wait, however, I can see why you would want to go ahead with the BA and lift if you're not sure if or when you will be having another child. I wasn't sure and still am not sure if I will be having another child, so I decided it was time for me. If you are going to be having a child in the near future, there are many reasons to wait, including the possible effect on your ability to breastfeed, further sagging which may require another surgery.
You might also want to post this in the general BA section. This is a great question. |

see I had a similar thing I lost alot of weight but I havent had children yet but want too in the near future.
so I wasnt sure whether to wait till i had children or have the surgery first.... I had the surgery first- breast lift and implants and then I was told by my surgeon that my breasts after the lift and implants would never be as saggy as they were before the operation. He also said that Augmented breasts are more resistant to the loss of volume and shape that often accompany pregnancy and breast feeding. Because the augmented breasts maintain more of their volume ( the implant volume does not decrease), women with implants are less likely to see such drastic changes. But that does not really rule out that i may need another lift later...but hopefully not.... so I really dont know how much truth is in what he said about implants and pregnancy ,but hopefully this reply is some what helpfull anyway,,,, |

My main concern would be the stretching of the incisions from the lift when your breasts get larger from pregnancy. Just imagine how big your breasts were when you were pregnant and after, now add an implant to that! This is all speculation of course, but I'd wait since you want a lift. I think if you did it now and then had a baby in the next few years then you'd need another lift sooner rather than later!

I think it depends. It is best to wait until you are done having children but I know a couple people who have had a baby after a BA and their breasts have changed a little but not bad at all. I think it's a choice only you can make. Better to wait but you have good reasons for doing it now too!
