I had a Benelli lift with implants almost 3 weeks ago. I was kind of put off by the idea of seeing an incision around my entire areola, but I quickly stopped worrying about it because I wanted this so bad and my PS would not use implants in me without a lift because I had tubular breasts. My incisions look bad to me, but not because of PS error or poor choice in procedure, I'm just not used to seeing stitches around my areola and there's still some dried blood on them. (Hopefully that makes sense...) Did your PS talk to you about puckering? My PS showed me pictures but said it fades with time and since he wasn't removing too much skin I wouldn't have much puckering. I've already noticed a decrease in puckering from 2 weeks post op to almost 3 weeks post op. My PS said it's normal for your entire areola to be swollen and look puffy, but I did not have that, and that goes away if you do have it. They did look strange though. I think my areolas were still swollen last week because my nipples looked flattened, but they didn't look puffy. I thought having flattened nipples was from having tubular breasts but a few days ago they just went back to looking pretty normal. My account sounds pretty bad, but trust me, it's not. It is surgery and it may be a little strange to look at for awhile, but in a few months they will look great! My PS says I'm making great progress in my recovery and he's confident that in 2 months all of my puckering will be gone.
I do have some pictures but I need to update my group because I don't think any of the pictures I have up yet even show my incisions. My PS took my steri-strips off on day 11 and I haven't put any of my pictures up since then. I noticed you can't receive private messages yet, but if you hang around here you will be able to, and I would be willing to share my pictures with you. Whenever I wish my boobs were bigger, I look back at my pre-BA pictures and I am astounded at the transformation. I can relate to the anxiety about the lift, but I'm really, really happy I had it done and the results are amazing to me.

I also had a benelli lift and I have a yahoo group with pics, if you'd like to see my results. My scars look wonderful now. They are thin white lines, barely noticeable. I am 15.5 months post op. PM me is you'd like the link to my group.

Hey Brittany!
I also had the Benelli lift. I'm really happy with the results, but shortly after surgery the lift in my left breast came out! The main stitch, which basically acts as an anchor, somehow broke. I'm scheduled for a re-do on that breast next friday (can't wait!). I'm about 4 months out right now and I think I'm healing pretty nicely. The scars aren't the prettiest, but over time they will get better. The puckering went away completely when I was about 2 months out. Relax! You'll be fine and happy you did it! Check out this link for more info on the Benelli lift. It's extremely helpful and informative. http://www.magnoliaplasticsurgery.co...BA_w_Lift.html Dee

Hi Brittany~
I actually had a full anchor lift, (which, as I'm sure you know, is a little more extensive), but I can comment about the incision around the areola, since my lift involved that too. It is definitely a little scary to see the nipple/areola sewn back on for the first few days, but like the gals before me have said, it does get better. The scars around my areola are barely noticeable now and it's only been a month!! In my opinion, it was a small price to pay for perky boobs!! There are some great threads on the site about lotions, etc. used on the scars. I think that with diligent care, the can be quite inconspicuous!! Best of luck to you! |

Can you explain what it looked like to me? Its just on one boob, my aereola sometimes lifts up! Its hard to explain, but I went to my PS and he brushed it off completely. I am not convinced so am gonna have a 2nd opinion. It does nt happen all the time, when it lies flat it looks perfect, but its almost like a stitch has come away inside? Thanks for any comments! Nic
