Red face No Implant For Me!?

Went to my first consult today seeking lift with aug. I wear a 34D but I'm saggy and the D comes from stuffing it all in. I definitely need a lift and thought an implant would help fill me out so afterwards I'm still a D. To my surprise the PS wouldn't recommend an aug for me -- just a lift. I asked if I would still be a D afterwards and he said at the least a full C.

Of all the scenarios I played out in my head of how the consult would go - him saying no implant wasn't one of them. I don't know how to feel about it just yet. On one hand --I 'm relieved at the thought of not having to choose an implant, size, texture, etc. On the other hand -- the cynic in me says what happens if I get the lift only and wake up way smaller than I want to be like a B cup or something. Seriously.

I should trust his opinion as I liked him a lot. But what if he's just conservative or fatherly and looking out for me or something? YKWIM?? I have another consult in two weeks I'm interested to see what that PS has to say. I don't know what to do. My number one goal is perky but I want to be a nice size too. I don't want to lose too much.

I imagine you might regret not getting an implant if you want a rounder fuller look. A lot of the lift-only augmentations in the D range I've seen end up looking a bit wide and pancaky. If you do already have a lot of upper fullness then you may be ok and really not need the implant.

And that's the thing ... my fullness is in the bottom half not the top. I don't understand how a lift only would compensate for the flatness on top w/o making me look way smaller and pancaky... Do you think I want to be bigger than a D and just don't know it? I don't quite understand what a D cup equates to post lift ... if that makes any sense. I'm confused.

hi

well i definitely recommend girls to get at least 3 consults, as different PS' have very different opinions in how they approach BA's.

but there's plenty of girls too who, after getting a lift, still want to get fullness in their breasts, and to get the nice fullness you'd need the implants. i'd say to keep looking for some other PS'.

hth

I have a consult next week with a different PS and will see if he agrees. Been looking at more lift only photos and I'm impressed by what they can do to saggy breasts without an implant. I have a lot of volume in the bottom portion of my breast and I think it will help create the full look without the aug.

Just rambling ...

Some plastic surgeons opt to do lift and implant in different surgeries anyway. It's easy enough to add an implant after healing if you're not satisfied, but the removal of implant might not yield satisfactory results (as often it is not recommended to get a lift twice especially within a short time frame due to circulation problems).
