Hi,
I am so nervous about my lift and implants that my sister says I am ruining the experience. I was so excited until I started looking things up on the internet and then I got freaked... my sister works for Dr. Jason Pozner in Boca Raton Florida, he fixed my sister who had CC more times than I can count on the right and then had the silicone removed completely and now has saline from Dr. Pozner and is beautiful.. 10 surgeries to get to that... that is what I am afraid of. I really want my new boobs because I am sag city... no shape, lost so much weight and breast fed, they are horrible but I am terrified of complications. Does anyone have the implants with lift done and not have complications??? It seems like everywhere I turn I see only negative things and nothing positive. I would like to hear from some of you that have it and were ok after surgery. My other problem is the distance.. I will not be able to go back and forth to Florida all the time so I will be on my own:-( I want to use this surgeon because my sister works there and he does excellent work but I am worried about any post op problems and I will not be able to just go in and see anyone.... sigh... not sure what to do:-( |

[b][i]Listen everyone can have complictions from a tooth being pulled.
You have to trust your PS and what he or she can do for you realistically. I have been through the wringer of complications.....I didn't do my homework on one PS who was reffered to me by ex fiance. But in any event I had a new PS who cleaned up his mistakes and am living with what an idiot the first PS was a big mistake to get into.....since I did not bother to check his field............It will be ok as long as YOU feel Comfortable and Do Your Home Work on the person that you trust............................. The Best Of luck to you, Christine ![]() |

I'm happy to say that I had a lift with implants on June 20th and so far (knock on wood!) no complications!! I was a little nervous the first few weeks.... they had an odd shape from the skin being pulled so tightly, but (just like everyone says) they change so much and are starting to look lovely! I'm definitely glad I did it....and I think you will be too! Complications are a risk of any surgery, but as long as your PS has a good track record, odds are in your facor that everything will turn out well. Good luck!!

I had a lift with implants and no complications for me either! And they look great! My BA/BL was on June 30th, so I'm not too far out, but my PS says I'm healing very well. I know a lot of us aren't too far out, but keep in mind many women have a lift and implants and tend to move on if they don't have complications. Those with complications tend to stick around for support and advice. You should have no problem contacting your PS, even if he is out of state, especially since your sister works there. As long as he knows that you live out of state, he should be able to work with you so you wont have to go back and forth all the time.

Thank you! I feel better already... he does have a great track record and the nurse called me a little while ago and made me feel great. Now the question of the day is what do I expect with healing time? My DH will be coming for the weekend but I do not think he can stay the whole week and with me having drains and all will I be ok to fly home by myself the next week.. 8 days later? Should I expect a ton of pain from BA/BL? How is your scarring? I see that they did a bl on ou but they still did aereola incision.. did you have a full lift or only partial? I was told I need a full lift so I guess we will see..
Thank you again! |

Hi- Thank you so much for responding. Your size sounds very similar to mine and I have not even begun to think about what size I will want. I am currently wearing a 36C but have no idea if I should go to a D or what. All I know is that I am getting silicone.. I think that might be why I am so nervous.. I have nobody to ask questions to since my sister set this all up and got me a great price. I basically do not even talk to the doctor until the day before.. well I guess I will be brave and do it becuase i have always wanted it and now is my chance:-) Thank you again!

I did have a full anchor lift. Personally, I think my scars are healing wonderfully. I've been taping them during the day (my PS says this helps them to heal flat) and also applying scar zone and bio oil (both are products I read about on this site---I definitely recommend them!) If your interested in seeing how they have healed, send me a personal message and I'd be happy to email some pics! I just know that the scarring discourages a lot of people from the lift, but I think that with the proper care (and of course, a skilled surgeon) the scarring can barely noticeable--and I'm living proof of that!
As far as healing time... I had my surgery on a Friday and was back at work Monday (3 days later!) I kind of regret that, in retrospect; I have to stand at my job all day and I was sooo fatigued and sore after 8 hours. I was no doubt sore for the first few days, but I think that after 8 days you should be OK to fly home by yourself.... just no heavy luggage!!! Hope that helps! |

If you don't know what size you want to end up yet, I would recommend bringing a lot of pictures of the look you're going for. That will convey what you want much more than cup size will. My healing time was surprisingly easy, but it really varies from person to person. I just felt sore like I spent way too much time at the gym. I would rest as much as possible while DH is taking care of you and you should be fine after that weekend. My mom took off the day after my surgery but honestly I didn't even need her to. It was reassuring to have someone there in case something happened though. Just make things easier on yourself by having zip up or button up tops, tops off of pill bottles, everything you need at a low level, etc. I don't have any experience with drains though. I think the only concern with you flying home 8 days later would be carrying your luggage. Pack light and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need to lift or lower it. You will probably be feeling pretty good (I felt like I could do everything normally) but it is important to take it easy.
I had a concentric mastopexy so the scar is only around my areola. The incisions look strange to me, I guess because I have puckering (common with a concentric lift) and they haven't healed much yet. I think the best thing to do is to prepare yourself for how you will look after surgery. Just remember that they will take awhile to heal. I have to constantly remind myself of that because of course I look nothing like my PS's other examples of areola incisions that were hidden quite well. As far as being nervous, don't hesitate to ask questions here. I can understand being nervous about not knowing what you're getting. I think it's a little strange to not talk to the doctor at all beforehand, but I guess he would need to do an exam before he could get into specifics. You should also be able to call his office and get all of your questions answered. This is major surgery and you have the right to ask as many questions as you want. I hope you feel really good about it once you meet with your PS.

I am grateful to anyone willing to share their before and after BA/BL pictures. I'm definitely getting a lift but flip-flopping on whether to get the implant. USTBabe21 - you look great!

I got a lift and BA. I took two weeks off of work.
My PA told me no going out of town for two weeks. He wanted me close by just in case there were complications. If you can stay with your sister for two weeks I think you will fine fine after that. I took it slow because I was told to. I have had no complications. It is like Christmas every morning. I am so glad I did this!!! Try not to worry. It is sooo worth it!

I have a BA and full anchor lift on 7-8 and the first few days were rough but I think it's only because the pain pills made me nauseous and I was vomiting for several days. After I got those of of my system it was much better. I'm one who tends to over do it and because of this I have a small infection in my crease incision but it will heal in no time.
I think this procedure plays on your emotions in addition to the surgery. I didn't even care to see my boobs the first six days. You will have ups and downs, but it will be worth it in the end. I tried to stay away from the internet because there is alot of misinformation out there. That's why this site is so helpful. These ladies have been through it all. Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress. |

I've got a lot of after pictures, but not many befores, lol. I didn't want my sad, saggy boobs immortalized in a picture, haha. Now that I think about it, it would have been nice for a comparison though. |

Hi-
Now I am getting confused on Saline or Silicone... which is better and how does the doc decide? My PS is giving me a family discount so I do not think it matters which one I use... what info. should I know about both? Amber |

I'm certainly not an expert on the saline/silicone debate by any means, but as I understand it, one of the main differences is how they feel to the touch. Silicone is known to have a little but more of a "natural" feel to it, whereas saline tends to be a bit more firm. However, I think that for women starting out with a little bit more breast tissue of their own (like myself), the firmness of saline isn't quite as big of an issue as it would be for someone, who, say, had very little breast tissue.

Congratulations on scheduling your BA and BL!
I had both, and couldn't be happier with my results. I used to have fantastic boobies prior to BFing my daughter, then they were saggy and flat. Now they're more beautiful than I could have ever imagined! I tried to add you as a friend, and if you see some of my before and afters (especially my 2 week album) you'll see where I came from and how they look now. It's definitely worth it! MY biggest concern for you is the distance. I understand that your sister works for Dr. Pozner, but that's really far! I have stitches popping up from my lift (which is normal) and I go to my PS to pull them out or clip them. At one point I had a lump at the end of my crease incision and had to have her check it out, luckily it was just another stitch trying to surface! These aren't complications, but there's a lot of comfort in knowing that I could see my PS whenever I had a concern. You can't put a price on that kind of reassurance! I'm sure Dr. Pozner does amazing work, but I'd bet good money that there are equally amazing PS near you. Have you tried researching your area at all? I think it would be better to even go to Manhattan or New Jersey (Dr. Sorokin is there and apparently he's really good!) for your procedures, and going for follow-ups will be much easier and CHEAPER. In any case, I wouldn't get too hung up on the complications, they're more the minority. You won't regret doing it, and in about a year your scars will be thin and white! HTH!
