I am only three weeks post op. At week one I had an infection in my crease incision so my PS took me out of the bra and strap. He suggested that I lay down as much as possible but that's difficult to do when you have job. The problem I am having is that it feels like they are dropping , not in a good way. I catch my self walking around holding them up for relief of the heavy feeling. They feel very heavy and I constantly have a burning, stinging sensation. Hopefully he will tell me tomorrow that I can wear the bra and strap again. I know alot of times ladies do not wear a bra afterward at all. But I think with a lift you are required to do so. Anyone else experience this?

Well, I also had a burning feeling on my right side a lot. I would make my DH check it out, it was on my side - and he said nothing was there. It wasn't even red... I think its the skin and muscles stretching to accomodate the implant. My right side is higher than the left - and is having issues w/ dropping (and I am wearing a strap). I could understand how they could feel if you aren't wearing a bra... they could feel heavy. Will you be seeing your PS soon? If not, maybe you should call them to see if this is normal, (only because you did have an infection and I didn't). HTH.

ive been through and experienced everything youre going through right now. i totally remember the horrible heaviness on my chest and the burning and stinging that kept me up all night. i remember sticking a slice of cheese between my boobs just to soothe the pain!...ugh.. it was tough. it all sounds normal though- so dont worry... and trust me.. it will get better over time. as for the bra- my ps kept me in one and i never had the strap... but every ps has a different protocol. hope this helps- dee

I'm so glad you posted this. I have been having a burning stinging heavy feeling in the bottom half of my lefty but not my righty. Almost in a straight line across the bottom third of my breast between my nipple and my crease. Especially sensitive to touch. I was terrified that I was bottoming out. My right is high, hasn't dropped at all. So maybe it is just the feeling you get when it drops in the pocket. I'll be curious to hear what some of the veteran implant ladies have to say.
Where are you feeling the burning Carmella? Is it in a spot, a line, a side, only the bottom, or the entire breast? |

Firstly try not to panic as when we do this everything seems to be happening and we think all is going wrong. You must remember that with the lift a lot of work has been done on the inside aswell. I found with my lift I had stinging and the feeling of being very heavy and felt as if I had to hold them up as I walked. If you are unable to wear the garment which has been provided then try a sports bra. You do need something just for a little support, although my PS said I didnt have to wear anything if I didnt want too, but I found I needed the support of the sports bra.
Your implants are unders and this may take up to six months to drop into the pockets. You will go through so many different changes. With unders there is also the recovery form where they inserted the implant under the muscles. I hope this is some help to you. Make sure you dont over do anthing as this will contribute to more pain and stress on the tissues. Take care and all the best. |

I had the same feeling...heaviness
even with a strap on...and I was holding them up too...and I also felt burning type or stinging...in between my breasts so I thought it was symastia (sp ?)...but it has all gone now I think it was more of the implants settling in the body/pockets (sternum healing from muscle being cut etc)...because I did drop quite a bit the first week...in my pictures there is noticeable difference...and I was on my feet all day shopping from day 3 onwards...walking up to 5 hours non stop a day...crazy I know but I was overseas on holidays as well...so maybe cause you have a job you might be quite active...so gravity helping the situation ?? just like mine ? I don't have that feeling anymore...although if I am on my feet a bit...my boobs get hard and hurt...so I just massage and they are back to feeling soft and great (as can be)... |

The burning is very normal and almost surely from nerves starting to regenerate. I had really bad burning for two weeks until my dr. finally gave me nuerontin to help with it. The heaviness...very normal as well. My dr. wants my breasts supported 24/7, so I can't say much about that, but I would call your PS and discuss all this. But it sounds like pretty normal stuff that will go away with time. Hang in there.

I am 12 days out and have had some stinging and heaviness. It isn't bad though. My ps said I can take off my bra at night, but should wear it during the day. I am also working and have 3 kids. I've been lifting the baby (19lbs) too much. My implants are still extremely high. I wish they'd drop some!!!
What is bothering me most is the numbness and prickly sensation I am getting. Has anyone had that? I am hoping it subsides soon! I may start a new thread about this. Hope your ps has some good advice for you. Try to take it easy as much as you can. Good luck.
