Ladies with lifts -- Please answer a few questions for me based on your experience. TIA
Were you wrapped in an ace bandage or anything after your lift or did you just have steri-strips? How long after your surgery did you have your post op appointment? How long before you could shower? How long before you could drive a car? How long before you stopped wearing button ups and was able to pull a shirt over your head? For ladies who had implants with lift -Are your breasts larger or smaller than you thought they would be?

Let's see...
No ace bandage for me - just the strips. My surgery was on Monday and post op on Thursday. I've heard of others going in much quicker, but I live an hour away and this is what my PS recommended. It seemed just right to me. I was given the go ahead to shower after that appt. I was driving by that Friday (day 5) but it was a pretty quick trip to run the kids somewhere. It was difficult to turn the steering wheel. In retrospect, I probably should've waited until at least a week. I was putting normal shirts on after a few days. I never had any problems lifting my arms at all really. Maybe b/c I had just the Benelli? I have friends who had a transax incision (armpit) who had trouble lifting for weeks! I nursed four babies and had a lot of breast tissue - I was a saggy 34B. But in college, I was a full C, so I wanted to get back to that. I never even DISCUSSED definite ccs with my PS...I just told him what I wanted and showed him lots of photos. I went online and found before/afters of women who looked like me and got the results I wanted from a Benelli lift. When I woke up, I found out I got 339ccs in each. I was kind of surprised...I don't know why...but maybe all along I thought I'd go with something like 300ccs. Anyway, I LOVE the results. I am still a bit swollen and know I have a long way to go before they drop/fluff, but they are looking just like what I wanted (except puffy still on top, if you know what I mean.) Hope this helps! Woke up after surgery and to my surprise I only had on a sports bra ( steri-strips aswell ). 1 night hospital stay.
Was able to shower next day and try not to get strips wet. If you do, dry them but be careful not to burn them (hair dryer) as you cant feel the heat due to numbness. Had post op 1 week after surgery, and stitches removed. ( Although PS came next day after surgery to check me and let me know how it all went.) Was told not to drive for 1 - 2 weeks. Tried at 1 week and it nearly killed me. Two weeks and could raise the arms enough to put on a tshirt without help and at a good pace. My first thoughts on how big they were, Whoppers. Someone put 2 balloons up my shirts. They did feel huge, and I felt this way for about 1 week . I guess this was when swelling went down. Lastly everyone is different with what they can and cant do. You read post on here and some are lucky and have no problems after surgery, I was trashed, could barely blow my nose. I am not by all means a whimp I put up with lots of pain but my experience was very different. I am not the type of person to sit and do nothing but this was all I could do for a good week. Which is probably a good thing because you really need to take it easy after a lift due to the internal work which has been done. Take care. |

I have a high tolerance for pain, but I recovered really quick. I was told to shower the day after surgery, and had a post-op the same day. I was sent home from surgery with just the steri-strips on the incisions. I was given a sports bra and a strap the following day. I only took my pain meds on the day of my surgery, once. Other than that I just felt sore. I think most of my soreness was from the implants, not from the lift. I drove on day 2, to take and pick up my daughter from school, with no problems, and was driving my normal routine on day 5. I also was able to lift my arms and dress myself on day 2 with no problems. I had the help, just didn't need it. I had my second follow-up appointment a week later where they took the tape off of my incisions. I was nervous, but the scars were much better than expected. It's been 4 months and they are still red in color, but getting better everyday. NO REGRETS at all!!! They are about the size I wanted and expected, but of course, I now wish I would have gone bigger. I was a full 34B and now I am a 34D-32DD with 275cc, but they don't look that big in clothes. I wish you the best of luck, you'll love your new look.......take care.

Thanks Robkel. That's very encouraging info. My DH will be around to help with most everything but one of my biggest worries is driving. I'm going back to work after five days and don't want him to have to drive me because we work different shifts. Besides, I'm not telling anyone I work with about the surgery and they will question why I'm not driving my own car. I also worried about dressing myself, how many button downs I will need to buy or if the possibility exists for me to dress by myself.

I think I drove my car (short distances) at around day 3 or 4? It wasn't comfortable for several days/weeks after though. Quote:

I had a strap on the top of my chest and sports bra with gauze bandages on nipples. I was allowed to take off strap and gauze and bathe at 3 days - felt like an eternity! I was not allowed to drive for 3 weeks (yesterday was first day back behind the wheel). I actually tried to drive a couple of times but couldn't back out of my driveway. My DH has been great - won't let me lift a finger! I did NOTHING for first week. A little more the 2nd. Everyday is better.
My post op was 10 days later when my PS took out the stitches. He put steristrips on and they will come off on thier own in 2 to 3 weeks. So I haven't seen my incisions yet but PS said they looked great. I go back to work tomorrow - Honestly, I don't know how I could have gone back earlier. I'm really tough and generally have a high pain threshold. I was surprised at how much this affected me. Pre BA - 34 b/c Post BA 36 D 310/350 PIP microtextured silicone unders - BL on one side. |

Your size pre is like me. My PS quoted me with pic's and I was a 36 C saggy all the way. I am 5'0 and 112lbs. So all along I thought for sure I was going to need a lift... well I was able to get away with no lift becuase we went with a bigger implant. I was so happy because I was so saggy they said I would need a full lift and I did not want scars but I did not wany new saggy boobs... so I got 450cc's HP Silicone unders and all is well. Got rid of my stretch marks and they look great so far. PS said down the rode I might need a lift if I feel they sag but for now no anchor scars for me!
Good Luck! |
