benelli and areola reduction ladies please help!

Hi ladies -
I'm one week out from a BA with a slight benelli lift and an areola reduction. My areolas are definitely smaller than they were, but they look TERRIBLE! They are horrible puckered and lumpy, and look very much like what Frankenstein's nipples would have looked like if he had any!

The PS warned me that there would be some lumpy scarring at first, but that it would quickly resolve itself. I just hadn't expected it to look THIS bad. Please, please, please tell me if you had this happen, and if you ended up with good results after a few months. I'm freaking out a bit here!

One week is still very early and I think it would be strange if they didn't look a bit freaky. There's still plenty of time for them to heal over smoothly and nicely and they usually do. More often than not what you see early on is nothing like what you get a couple months down the line. Try not to get too discouraged.

Please dont worry, I had pretty bad puckering after my benelli lift, my PS suggested keeping them taped down (which I did for around 6 weeks). Now they are completely flat.

I have a yahoo group and put up my 6 month scars today if you are interested. PM me and I will send you the link, no worries.

(Itll be worth waiting, hard as it seems right now, I am sure, cause I felt the same!!! )

ATB

i'm 2 months out, and mine look far better than they did 1 week out. i was able to see the scar line all the way around through my top when i went braless, and i noticed the other day that they have smoothed almost completely out now.

Thanks for making me feel better, ladies. I knew that it wouldn't look gorgeous right away, I just hadn't seen any pictures of just how hideous the early scarring would be.

Nikki - I may just be being a new idiot here, but I can't figure out a way to PM you. I think that it's because I'm not an elite member. I am glad to hear, though, that at 6 months you are happy. How many months did it take until you felt like you were getting even close to normal (and by normal, I mean not so scary!!) What did you use to tape your nipples? Steri strips? My PS doesn't want me to use ANYTHING on mine, but based on a lot of other research that I've been doing, I'm considering trying scarguard in another week or two.

Thanks everyone!

Nic,

I am in the consultation phase of having the ba, areola reduction and benelli lift done. I too am put off from the "frankenstein" look that I've seen in some photos after this procedure. I would be very interested in seeing your photos. Also, I see from your profile you had overs. What was the reasoning behind getting the overs as opposed to the unders as my PS says either way would be fine for me.

Thanks!

Donnag and Jane --

I am only 9 days out and still in that Frankenbreast stage, but I see a difference ALREADY over the first day. Of course, I share the same concerns as both of you, but already I see an improvement AND my breasts look so much better perkier than my previous BA. I should have done this in the first place but I would not hear of it during my first BA experience.

Short story: don't let the scarring hold you back from really doing the right thing. You are far better off doing this ONCE and not having to do it again so soon (only 3.5 years for me -- and an expensive lesson).
