Hello- Need info on lift types

Hello,
I have gone to one consult and have two more scheduled currently. It does appear that a lift will be recommended, but I am really dreading the scar. I am seeking any information on a benelli lift, as the first PS said he doesn't care for them due to possible puckering (not me specifically, just a general statement from him), but I am not convinced that I would not be a good candidate still. If anyone has had this type, I would love any information.

Thanks-
Jill

Yes puckering is a risk with a benelli lift. However a lot of women prefer the slight puckering to having a scar running vertically down from the nipple (lollipop lift), sometimes even down to the breast crease merging into a crease incision (full anchor lift). I have a friend who had an areolar reduction with her implants and she has puckering around the edges, but you can't see it when her nipples are hard. It only shows when the skin is completely relaxed and even then, it's not too bad, like it wouldn't show through even thin clothing or anything.

It is a matter of personal opinion though. A lot of PSs don't seem to be a fan of benelli lifts in which case you really just need to find a PS who is comfortable with them, if that is what you want.

Hey Jill-
I am 18 days post op and I had a benelli w/ Aug
I had VERY little sagging, but I had large areolas way low on my boobs and my nips were at the bottom of the areolas so I went to 2 consults. THe first one did measurments and said no lift- the second one looked at me (no measurements) and said lift with a benelli. His Office Mgr. had one 6 months ago or so and she showed me hers. THey looked GREAT!
My PS used intercuticular stitching which is on the inside and there is no puckering.
The PS told me that he was going to make my areolas smaller, but to honest one is smaller than the other one, but I had sort of cone like areolas to begin with so the benelli flattened out my areolas.
I have read alot of articles from Doctors that do not like the benelli, but I guess it is completely up to the Doctor's ability.

The way my PS explained it to me.... He frowned on arpit incisions, because he said is was an unclean area to begin with so why do surgery there?
THe crease was an option, but he told me that it is visible on some level.
He told me that a benelli would get my nips up where they were supposed to be and that if I were going to do just an BA without a lift I would already have an incision halfway around my areola to get the implant in so a benelli was not that drastic.

I can see that it will look fine in a few months, but right now it is pretty ugly looking to me.
My nip area is numb, but they do react. They get hard if they are touched and if I am cold, but I cant "feel" the sensation. Maybe that will change, but to be honest, If I cant have normal then I would rather be numb then hypersensitive... Ya know.
I will send you pics if you want to see progress at 3 weeks.
I hope some of this helped and jsut let me know - I will be happy to let you know more specifics stuff if you need.
Good Luck!
Stacy

Talking

I wanted a benelli lift due to less incisions, but ended up with a full anchor lift....I wouldn't change it though, obviously it's what my saggy boobies required to get the results I wanted......i love 'em!

I had an anchor lift also. One of my incisions puckers a little bit (where the vertical meets the nipple), but I'm only 3 wks post op so I'm not going to worry about it - there's still alot of healing left to do. Having a lift was a tough decision for me, but looking back at my pictures from before I'm glad I did it. Best of luck to you!

I'm going to have a benelli lift with my BA on the 26th. He will remove some excess skin with from the crease incision, and since he's doing an aereola reduction, some more excess skin will come off. Between the two of those, he thinks I should have a great result with my 400cc silicones. He said that the larger the implant, the more space it will take up. We'll see about the puckering...It can't be worse than a verticle scar! I'll keep you informed!

I am not quite sure what a Bennelli lift is. Sounds quite dumb, but I went into surgery not known much but trusting my doctor. I just had a BA and a TT with some lipo here and there. I had my silicone implants under muscle. My surgean asked my permission to dettached half of my areola and lift it if he was not completly happy with the position of them after the implants. And that is what happened 3 weeks and 3 days ago. My lipo and TT were the worst to start with. After three weeks, my boobs is what is bothering me, cuz one is bigger than the other. The scars around the areola seem to be fine. But, what is the puckering you all talk about. I am still quite ignorant as you can see...

Benelli lift

I had a Benelli lift on Jan 11. I think alot of it has to do with your surgeons experience and comfort level when it comes to their opinion with performing this type lift. It does require a little more skill than the other types. I have had wonderful results, but like everything else, not all do.
Best of luck to you!
