what was your first reaction...

I had my breast augmentation & anchor lift on 12/24. The steri-strips are still on so I can't see any of the incisions yet. Before the surgery the only thing that was holding me back at all was worrying about the scars, so I am so nervous for my first reaction when I finally see them. Every day when I take my bra off I am so nervous to see if a part of the strip fell off yet. Can you guys share your experiences with how you felt the first time you saw the incisions? And be honest please. I know they are not going to be pretty, I would just like to know just how bad they are at first.

Mine was "Hmmm longer than I thought they would be" But since I can't see them. I have to either use a mirror or lift my boob I really didn't care which really surprises me because I was worried about scars before the breast augmentation.

Ahhh! Well, my first breast augmentation, I was pleasantly surprised with the whole outcome and totally surprised that my crease incisions were barely noticeable right after the stitches came out!

For the second breast augmentation: the lift I got -- lollipop -- I tried to prepare myself with reviewing pictures online. When I first saw everything -- I thought it was rather gruesome and was not sure I could let my husband look at them. Not only that, but I was convinced it was not going to look any better!

When the steri strips came off completely for the removal of my stitches a week later, I wanted to go alone, but the husband insisted on coming and LOOKING. I thought I was going to die!

Now, 5 weeks post op -- I am really happy with the way I am healing. While it is still a little odd to see all of these lines on my body, I think I am healing really well and the whole thing was worth it!

But dang! It is a shocker at first!

For me, I was like damm...they are high and perky, I like them..lol. No more big and saggy boobs..yay!!! I was sooo happy, I didn't care how my scars turn out. When the steri strips came off, they were red, nothing too scary to look at. The scars are getting better and better everyday. The guess I was too happy with the perky boobs i didn't care much of the scars.

I been through enough with my first breast augmentation, was sooo disppointing with the result that getting the lift was like hitting the jackpot...lol.

I really wish there was like a NO SCARING at all technique. Does anybody have like time line pictures of their scars? Thats really the only thing I worry about. I know I want the surgery, but at the same time I dont want to regret it after.

I wish i was happy and satisfied from the first look at it... i thought of them to be just too big for my body.. they were and still - since i only had my surgery 7 days ago- swolen..hard and big. i used to have what they call it banana breast and assymterical too.. especially with the born of my first and only child. i had choosen size 300cc without much thought actually and i feel now that i would have reconsiered a smaller implants. sth around 250-280 since i ll always prefer to go for a petit look i am 50 kl, 160 cm. they say its just to soon too make an opinion about them since they r goin to change, soooo impatiened i have realised myself to be .

Well at first when I went in for my consultation, and they told me I woulnd need a lift, I started crying! I counldnt believe it. i didnt think i looked that bad! But after saving all the money for both a lollipop lift and a breast augmentation( done seperatly) I did both of the procedures, 6 weeks apart, and I couldnt be happier. I was so worried about the scars also, but four months later, the incisions are very minimal. I am using the silicone sheets everyday still, and they are looking great.

I didn't like the look of the incision around my areolas, it scared me a little but I will never forget my reaction the very first time i saw my breasts post-lift in the mirror (the morning after surgery). they were SO beautiful, SO full & SO round!!

the scars are a SMALL price to pay for the results, in my opinion. For my friends who aren't "into" implants, I tell them all to consider a lift. My BL was amazing!! Still too small for my liking so 8 weeks later I still went forward with my implants (my PS recommends doing the 2 procedures separately for best results and says many patients don't come back for the implants, they're that happy with just the lift!).

back to the subject - after seeing my breasts, the incisions/scars were nothing.

I totally agree! I really don't even "see" the scars anymore. Its been about 5 months now and when I look in the mirror I see right past the scars and see big, perky, beautiful breasts. I would change a thing!

Thanks everyone for your responses... Still patiently waiting for my steri-strips to fall off. This is driving me insane. I want to see them already!

I'm wondering....why didn't my PS use steri-strips??? I was all taped up and got un-taped in his office Monday (after last friday 1/23 surgery). I was afraid to look and didn't until I got home! I had the full anchor lift and it was really shocking to me, especially b/c "rightie" was way higher than "leftie" so I really thought i looked like a FREAK. But I am amazed at the difference (looking better) only a few days makes....and "rightie" has settled more even since yesterday!!!!
