I just read a post about the scarring, or lack there of, from having a crescent lift along with your BA. This was posted in Dec. 06 so I'm hoping that maybe some more of you have had this done since then and can post your experiences. Here are my main concerns...
1. Nipple sensitivity? better, worse, same? 2. Scarring? Hidden well? 3. Healing? Longer than someone who only had the BA? It seems that most people have had various other lifts so it would be great for you to post what you know about this type of lift.

Crescent Lift
Hi M&M,
I had a BA on Jan 12. I also had a lift which I am not quite sure under what name it goes, but I will relate to you my experience so far. When I went for my surgery my PS was not sure if I needed a lift or not. So we decided that if he was not happy with the position of the areola, that is after he had the implant in place, that he will make a cut around the upper half of the areola and lift it. And that is what I finisihed with. Both breasts are very sensitive at the moment (even after 4 weeks) to the changes in temperature and to the contact with my support bra. The incision is very even and as the breasts get oess swollen it is starting to look better. The BA incission is under the breast and it is still tender but it is looking good. Well, this is not really much information, but I hope it helps a bit. Nel |

I had a crescent lift (that's what you're describing here) on my leftie only, on Jan. 19, four months after my BA. Healing: the crescent lift by itself (without the BA) was almost NOTHING. I mean nothing! I almost liken it to clipping fingernails LOL!. I had NO pain except a little incision tenderness at 10-14 days because the incision got irritated by the stitches. By 3 weeks it was completely healed. Scar: it's very thin, though still red, and curves exactly at the edge of my areola, really I marvel that he could "draw" such an even, exact curve with a knife -- I can't even do it with a pencil, LOL! It doesn't look like it will end up being particularly noticeable. Nipple sensitivity Completely unchanged, neither more sensitive nor less, from day 1 post-BL on. I don't think the nip was affected at all. I DID lose nipple sensitivity from my BA for a few months, which is graduaally coming back.
