So how did you know that your PS was good at lifts???? Did you ask to see his lift pictures??? Did you have stiches on the outside or only on the inside??? I know my PS does a good job but I want to get this right if I go for a lift nice neat incision and I believe that has everything to do with surgeon skill and experience??? Any insight or what you did to make your choice please let me know???

I had a mastopexy (also called a Benilli lift). I believe that one tightens along with lifting, but it is for if you are not REALLY saggy. The mastopexy works well if you have tuberous breasts, like I did, because the PS can tighten your breasts into a round shape while doing it. It gives you some crazy looking incision all the way around the areola (have you seen any pics of them on this site from girls? Mine look the same). It basically looks like they cut your nipple off and sewed it back on, LOL, but that is obviously not what happened. I had dissolving stitches on the inside, but you can still pop stitches out (I am currently working on two, I think, haha. Basically, the knot pops out and you have to cut it, is my understanding. PRETTY gross and not looking forward to that, but what can ya do. They can always work their way out, it's just fate haha). I am not sure how much sag you have? It is a pretty good lift for incision location because the scars usually fade to the color of your areola and if your PS is good, it will be so thin it will will be unnoticeable. I know a lot of other lifts give you a big scar, so that was pretty good.

I suggest asking to see lots of lift results. Ask how often he/she does lifts. This was one of my mistakes, I think. My ps was highly recommended by several friends and family members, but looking back I realize they all had just breast augmentation done. I do think experience doing lifts is extremely important when choosing your ps. I think you will probably just need a Benilli lift, you are NOT that saggy. So, your scarring will not be bad at all. Even if you go with a lollipop lift, the scars are well worth it. I had stitches both internally and externally. The external were taken out about a week after surgery. BTW, the technical term for all breast lift procedures is mastopexy. It literally means breast lift in Latin. |

I looked at pictures of previous Anchor lifts he had done & the scaring. I had already seen 2 other PS's before so I listened to see if he answered the right way. I had internal the ones around my nipple were internal/external & had the external taken out later. I was most concerned about the scaring(though I know everyone is different)

I looked at before and afters of lifts he had done. He also told me how he would do it and what he planned on doing. This was very important because I felt that he was giving me lots of details. In my case, I found that to be comforting. Also, ask lots of questions. Have a list about the stitching and about the pictures.

I just had a lollipop (verticle) lift. I would def look at "THEIR" (your ps) before and after work on the particular lift that you are having done. That was a huge deciding factor for me. I live in the Dallas area and went to one of the city's top rated ps for my first consult and I loved him. He spent lots of time with me and answered all of my questions, but he didn't have a ton of before and after "lift" pics and the few that he had to show, I had to look through just on a computer screen with him. I wasn't really offered a book to really closely examine them and just looking at the pics on the computer monitor I couldn't say that I was overly impressed with the way they looked and something just didn't sit right with me about it. I wanted to be able to look at pics of someone who had a similar build and similar issues as myself and I wanted to be impressed with the after results. The ps that I ended up choosing to do my surgery did come from a recommendation and I was able to look at a ton of before and after "lift" pics of his work when I visited his office. I didn't need to spend as much time with him because I felt extrememly comfortable that he understood what I wanted and what my concerns were. Before I had my surgery I saw a TON of before and after pics online of lifts from just various surgeons that were very frightening to me. This type of surgery is an art and you want to make sure the ps you choose does the surgery you decide to have well and I guess this is why their before and after pics became so important to me. I noticed that there were some surgeons who I disliked ALL of their work and some that I loved ALL of their work. I am seven days post op so my boobs are all square and crazy shaped and sitting really high right now. I have steri strips over my incisions which will be there until my next appointment in about another week. I think I understood that my stitches would be internal but most of the ladies who had the lift that I did say they have internal and external so I probably have the same. As far as the scars go...everyone is different and I think alot of it depends also on how well you take care of them. I am looking forward to posting more pics through my healing process. Keep doing your research and good luck to you. |

In my PS defense.. Cause I don't think he did a bad job I think he wanted to save me the scars cause I was so borderline lift.... I always looked so wacked it took a long time and a revsion to look even... Anyway I know my PS does nice with lifts I saw one of his patients from 2yrs ago and she showed me her full anchor lift and they look nice .. real nice.. Also his lifts on his website are reall nice too... I will ask to see more.. I hope since we kinda always discussed this would be a staged event he gives me a discount.. I really don't want to use another surgeon.. I have seen other surgeons no one really jumped out at me.. My PS and his staff have been super great to me and I am truely a pain in the ass... I guess though I have right to be.. UGH so confusing!!

From looking at your pics, I think your ps has done a beautiful job. Your size and shape are fantastic. I am assuming you just want them higher? As long as you like your ps, and you like his work, then stick with him. I def would suggest taking in alot of pics of what I called my "dream boobs" when I went in for my surgery. I think that it cut out any possibility of any misunderstandings about what I wanted to look like when I woke up. Don't worry!!! |
