The only thing I could really think of is the healing time might be decreased by doing it in 2 different sessions... I will be getting a full anchor lift on both breast and my BA at the same time... My PS advsd me that my recovery time would be considerably longer due to the breast lift... He advsd it might take anywhere from 2 to 3 more months for the results to show, as the BL itself has to settle and then the boobs can drop after that?? Hope that helps

A friend of mine is having the procedures seperately. Her PS told her that doing them jointly can cause to much trauma to the breast. He believes there will be fewer complications that way.

Yea, I was thinking since it is a big procedure that if you need a drastic lift for example it might be sometimes better to let the tissue heal and then decide what size implant will be needed, that way the implant won't be interfering and putting pressure on the tissue as the lift alone is hard enough to heal. I think it's just PS preference in that matter, like they prefer the option of better safe than sorry.

My PS told me it's somewhat safer for the breast tissue to do them separately. But that doesn't mean doing it together is "unsafe," it might just be a very small increased risk. If you think you might prefer to have them done together, you might want to get a second opinion with another PS. Healing from two procedures in a row, might take just as long, or even longer, total time than healing from one combined procedure. You might be surprised at how varied the different PSs can be with their advice about BLs.

opposite
My PS likes to do them opposite. BA first then lift (I guess if it was a severe need it might have been different) but for minimal lifting he likes to see what he has to work with first to get the best lift.
They are unique creatures these PS's. Each has their own techniques! |

I saw 4 plastic surgeons and only one wanted to do the lift and then come back and do the BA. But since I have two little ones...I need to the recovery time to be all at once...although longer I know. So I have opted for a complete lift will small implants for fullness and will do it all at once. Let us know what you decide.

Maybe it depends on how much 'lift' is required? J x

I had a consultation on Monday and my PS wants to do the same. I currently have saline implants but need a lift. He says the tissue has a better chance to heal some first and lessen scar tissue if you do these in two seperate procedures. It sounds like a pain, huh? BUT if if means less scaring...I'm all for it....how about you?? What are you planning?
