![]() | Another benelli/periareolar Question
hello everyone again ![]() I asked a few PS online their opinions on if the periareolar Mastopexy is a good options for me and all have said yes but two have mentioned some things that make me go hmmmmmmmmmmmm. I have not seen this on anyone yet but have to ask. 1- flatted boobs on the front and larger nipples (my PS said he puts in perm. sutures to stop that) Does anyone have this? 2- an areola that has a sunburst pattern to it...I thought this puckering went away. Maybe this PS just isn't skilled??? BUT she also said "By definition a Benelli lift results in a peri-areolar scar. The resulting scar can be of a poor quality, with a "sunburst" pattern. In patients who will have a sunburst scar, I ask them to choose between this and adding a vertical scar, which will eliminate the sunburst. Ask your surgeon about this. If he/she closes your skin and you do not have a sunburst, great. If you do, decide ahead of time what you what your surgeon to do. In your case, the breast tissue in the bottom half of the breast needs to be lifted and fixed at a higher position. This is important for you. You can have a peri-areolar scar with the internal breast shaping work done through this incision. Be sure to clarify with your surgeon what is going to be done to the breast tissue in order to lift it. Otherwise, over time, your breast tissue can "hang" off the edge of the implant." Does that makes sense? Have you seen that before? Thanks everyone.... |

I am curious to see what responses you get... I also was borderline lift and went with a pretty big implant to avoid the scars.. bad idea long and short of it I asked my PS why not a benelli lift PLEASE... gez who does want scars?? He said the SAME exact thing to me and said the results that I am showing him he can't get me there with a benelli he also said he has seen it result in larger flatened aerola too....I thought the same thing as you cause I don't see that here on JBI but also my degree of sag/ existing tissue maybe greater.... I though the whole unskilled thing too but even in other consults benelli was not a choice by other PS either for me.... Have you spoke to a couple different PS???

I did a few years back and two said benelli and one said nothing just implant. I got the same type of responses from sending out pics and info to PS. Only one mentioned the flatted nipple thing and the first time I heard about breast contouring. My PS said to stop the nipple from stretching out he puts in gore sutures that hold it. He did say that if you palpate you can feel the stitches. I have seen his work and his reconstructions and they are amazing. He also has a zero complication rate which I think is great. BUT I am still searching and making sure I am asking for the right thing and expecting the right thing. My husband said to start small (with periareolar) and if needed go to lollipop or more. All of this is so stressful! |

Yes I agree with DH... I started with the no lift option but for me ny poor overstretched boobies from babies and weight loss wanted no part of that 450cc so I will drop a cup size and definately know to get the results I want with the cleavage I want needs to be a full lift..... My PS said I need it to for the reshaping ????? Grrrfffr... good luck to ya |

^^ That is my worry too though My poor boobies have BF two babies. The damage was done with the first and nothing much more with 2nd. Did you go over or under? I am thinking under for me to help hold the implant and I am only getting a 340 HP. My PS did say that heavier would not be good for me. |

I went under I went 390 O/F to 450 because in the OR my PS said massive rippling so he filled real tight.. I do have a little rippling if I bend over.... Problem was he tried to avoid the lift by the big implant I will do a 330 0r 360 this time mod + though for me I have 13cm bwd so I really can't do HP.. but HP is a good choice for you to help fill up top a bit |

I have not had my breast augmentation yet, but.... I will be having an aerola mastoplexy, or benelli lift. Those internal sutures are refered to as a "purse string suture". I was told that will help keep the shape of the nipple, as well as a vertical "pinch" suture. That is the small vertical scar from the nipple down. She told me that would give the tissue extra support to keep the shape. I have slightly asymetrical breasts so this will help me. I have been assured that the vertical line heals and hides the best over time.

![]() | I know you have seen my results. My boobs were pathetic before my breast augmentation/BL!! I am very happy with my benelli. Our stats are similar and I breastfed 3 babies...plus a have quite a few years on you ![]() Have you seen pictures of your surgeons skill with these lifts? Perhaps that would help to make your decision easier. |
