![]() | TransAxiliary Silicon max cc size Hey girls.. I have a question: I really wanted to have the trans axiliary incision but ended up with peri-areolar because I needed 350cc min implants and the doc said it would be too big an implant to put in this way.. I know many here have TA but have saline, which I believe is filled once the implant is in place.. Any one has or heard of girls who got Silicone (pre filled) implants via under the arms incision? If so, how big were they?? thanks!!

I had my first consult yesterday..I want silicone and he said that if i opted for the textured type they would have to go inframammary because it is too hard to squeeze them in through your armpit but smooth ones are able to go transax. (And textured ones inframammary need a larger incision than smooth.) (saline ones are filled once they are in there) I guess what i'm asking is are you planning on smooth or textured?? Rachael |

I was told it was very rare for a PS to choose to put Silicone in via Transax as they are prefiled. I have also been told that it can negate the benefit of transax in that the scars are very small, as with a filled silicone implant to go in the scar would have to be much larger than with saline. I have trans ax and love it!! I STRUGGLE to see my scar. However at the end of the day it is best to go with the PS recommendation and what he feels most comfortable with to limit any complication. Trans ax takes more skill than the others. T |

how big are you going? Any idea of your implant sizes yet? the range he and you are considering?? I ALREADY have mine - they are smooth, 350 ccs, I went with the peri areolar incision He said he didn't want to do Trans ax because the implants were too big already and he'd have to dig a very big hole from my armpit to get them in... he mentioned there was a risk of the implants going back "up that hole" after surgery and them looking really bad....

My first set of implants were silicone, and I got them via transax. They were Mentor smooth round moderate profile - 400cc. My ps specializes in the transax incision. I know he's put 500cc thru the armpit, but I'm not sure if he's gone any larger than that.

thanks for that. So it is possible. That was what I wanted to know. I guess it is a more difficult procedure, then anyway. I am assuming you had no problems with it and just went for a re-do to get larger implants? Did you also chose TransAx for your re-do? thanks for enlightning me!! ![]() ps. Cute new sig you have!!
