Size panic!
Hi, I've already posted a message fretting sbout this so I apologise for repeating myself but I'm getting really stressed about this and it's practically all I think about...
Basically my op day is coming up real soon (a VERY good thing) and I've been signed down as going for 390cc implants (specs in signature). This is the maximum my PS will go. I was a little disappointed as I wasn't sure that this would bring me up to my wanted DD. But after posting a message on here and reading up on some stuff on the internet I decided that this size was good for me. However, over the past couple of weeks I've been going from thinking that I'm ok with 390s one minute then going into a panic and thinking that I'll be way too small the next. I've phoned up the clinic and asked if I could go up to 450, and my PS got back to say that this would be too large for my frame and that I'd get problems in the future, so no, he wouldn't go bigger than 390. I asked about high-profile but these would look odd on my tall frame apparently. I just don't know... I try and tell myself that I'll be happy with my size with 390cc and that I'll be larger, firmer and a huge improvement without looking obviously 'done', but then I'm also worrying about looking at them after and thinking "well, that's a waste of £4500, they're still too small". I could find another surgeon who's willing to go a little bigger (could be a difficult job in the UK as it seems as though the surgeons here are very conservative when it comes to sizes), but then I'll lose quite a bit of what I've already paid and will have to re-book a BA date (NOT something I want to do after waiting ages for this one). Is this just pre-op nerves or am I right to want to go larger? Can't help thinking I've messed up a little by not shopping round a bit more to find the 'ideal' surgeon for me (though, saying that, other than the sizing issue, everything else about my PS is great). Sorry for rambling, I'm just a bit stressed by this! X Last edited by Octavia; 01-15-2008 at 09:11 AM. |

You have a 27" rib cage and you're starting with a decent amount of breast tissue. I think you'll be fine with 390. Slinky has similar pre-op stats as you, and she got to a DDD with just 360.

I think you'll get a DD with 390. Sounds like a good size for you.
I couldn't talk my stubborn french surgeon into giving me larger than what I have either but I am happy with the results. I sometimes get the greed™ but I'm not upset over this size by any means. I kind of suspect you'll end up with similar feelings. Liking it but having a hint of the boobie greed occasionally.

I think you'll prob. get 32D/DD guessing from your stats. Could you go on a couple more consults just to get some more professional opinions to hopefully ease your mind? Are they expensive there? Your "jitters" are very normal though- everyone fixates and freaks out about something. Size seems to be the most common.

Youre feelings are definitely normal! I am shorter than you but same ribcage and similiar starting point....I a bought a 32DD & 32E...the E fits better...although I am popping out of the top of it....I may settle into it after fluff, i'm guessing!!! Everyones different but 390cc's sounds about right!

390 sounds good to me!
See my stats and avatar, with 390 you should end up even bigger than me, at least a 32E. |

I'm your height, but bigger ribcage (32")...
You definitely need to listen to the ps recommendation, but I would push the ps on the statement about not wanting to use high profiles. Us tall girls can carry large implants w/o out looking matronly. I got 450cc unders, and am in no way "large" -- mine are moderates. You don't want to be sorry later. You need to feel comfortable with the decisions that are being made. Keep us posted!!

Listen to your PS. Even though you're tall, a 27" ribcage is tiny, and that has a lot more to do with it than height. My PS wouldn't go over 330 with me because he said anything bigger would look ridiculous on my tiny frame, and I ended up as a 34D although Nordstrom measured me as a 32E. So 390 should be fine for you if you're trying to stay within "normal" proportions.
I'm 5'7", 120 lbs, 29 ribcage, and started out as a small 34B. |

I have the same BA date as you!!! So excited. I am getting 400cc's and hope for similar results that you want. Good luck.

At first I would say that 390 probably wouldnt be big enough since you are so tall, but since your ribcage is so small - I actually think that will end up being a good size for you. However - I am not sure if you will immediately love it because you are already fretting!
The most my PS could do was 350cc's and I am a full C, MAYBE a small D... but I have a larger ribcage than you (30) so I think with 390cc's and smaller ribcage... I do think you will get a D or a DD. If your insticts tell you that you are in good hands, then definitely trust your PS - they didnt go to school for nothin! ![]() keep us posted! |
