Hi everyone..i just had my BA 2 months ago and im definite on my decision to have a redo around 6-10 months from now. but im wondering if the redo size i want will be around 120-150cc larger than what i have now (I have unders 240cc transaxillary incision) will the incision site still be thru transax? My BA says it can be done thru the same incision, but i read somewhere that the incision site will have to be in a different location, ergo, a new scar...
And how soon after a BA can we start using underarm deodorants again? also, my scars are still raised, is it because my surgeon used absorbable sutures? are regular sutures better when it comes to healing and less visible scars? when will they get flat? and does anyone have any advice to help them heal faster so i can use such tips for the future surgery as well? thank you so much for your time... |

The scras are raised at first but with time they will flatten. Mine were absorbable ones and are barely visible already. I don't know if plastic surgeons even use removable ones. Hmm....

Mine was done transax, and I had dissolving stitches. I'm only nine days out, but it seems that everyday the lumpy raised cut gets a little flatter.
www.caretechlabs.com I wash with the Satin and use the Care Creme. My wounds are clean, soft, and healing up great. I also love the Techni-Care, which is good to wipe the incision site with just before you go in, and to wash with while you're healing. I used to work in a piercing shop, and attended a piercing class, and the guy that taught the class also worked in a hospital, and we used and swore by the Satin and Techni-Care. This is my first experience with the Care Cream (because you don't put cream on piercings!), but it seems to be working excellently. |

I had a crease incision and the same incision was used for my redo. I don't see any reason why he couldn't use the same incision.

thank you so much for all your replies, it makes me feel better learning from your personal experiences.. wow, ginger, you look awesome!!! I think i'd like to go larger than my intended 120-150cc increase because your stats are similar to mine...and your 2nd BA photos are exactly what i would like to achieve...
I will try the Satin and care cream, my scars are still raised so I hope it works out for me too... My best friends' PS used regular sutures on her and just removed the stitches in 7-10 days and her scars were flat within 3 weeks! so i really dont know if there is some significance there..but i really appreciate all your responses.. thank you again so much!!!

If it's already been a couple of months, then you can probably use those silicone scar sheets to help flatten them. It's probably too late for the Satin and Care Cream, as those are for while you're still healing.

I'm not sure how true this is...two of the doctors I met with before coming to a decision told me that you cannot go through the transax incision again so if you needed a redo along the line you would have to make another incision...I'm not sure though. Just some info I have received.
