Post CC's and back pain

Hi, I'm having my breast augmentation on 12/27 and have pretty much decided on 425 cc. My husband voted for going from 400 to 425 and I'm fine with that. I'm pretty flat, about an AA. I'm chubby though (5'1 tall) and would have to wear probably a 38 I'd like to be a full C/small D but am worried about pain of that large of a size plus availability of a 38D bra.

Do any of you have back pain due to larger breasts? Thanks!

Shoulder Pain and Back Pain

Hi there. Congratulations on your "up"coming surgery. (Smile)

I have problems (arthritis) in my left shoulder, and the increased weight of my left breast has led me to search for pads and bras that will comfortably support my boob.

I had pain in the middle of my back, under my ribs, for about 2 weeks after my breast augmentation. That was really the only discomfort I experienced. I didn't sit or lie in a recliner. It wasn't as comfortable, for me, as lying with pillows under my back and on a heating pad. I took Tylenol regularly but tried to stay away from the serious pain meds except at night because I didn't like the effect the meds had on my brain. Ha.

(I have lost 6 pounds since my surgery. Since I'm near 50 years old, my body/muscles aren't in the shape they were 20 years ago, but I'm not overweight. I feel balanced, though, now that I have boobs. I felt like a pear before - my hips looked heavier than they really were. Having breasts definitely puts nice emphasis on something other than my bottom.)

Good luck to you, and enjoy your Christmas holidays!!

I went with 400cc's and was a small 38B before surgery. I will probably be a full C/small D when it's over and done with. More likely full C. Kinda wish I would have gone a little bigger -- 450cc but I satisfied with what I have. I don't see any difference in carrying the extra weight. I occasionally suffer from back/neck/shoulder problems and have not had any of these during my recovery. I slept in a recliner for 1st week and have been in a bed since. I was off the pain meds by Thursday morning (surgery was Tuesday) and took Tylenol only during day on Thursday.

You should be fine with the 425's.

Good luck.

Hi Katie,

I don't have any back pain. Initially you will have back pain due to poor posture early post-op, after you are healed you will be fine. My implants (360 cc's) weigh less than 2 pounds, distributed evenly across my chest I don't even notice any weight. You can look here to calculate the weight of your implants.

I had muscle pain in my back for the first few days (not debilitating, just sore), but it was as Ivy said - I've got poor posture, so learning to hold the weight (albeit small) of the new implants was giving my back a bit of a challenge. It resolved after about day 5, though, and now I've learned to stand up straighter and carry them in a manner that distributes the weight across my back evenly.

I had back pain for the first month, but I have noticed that most of it has diminished. My posture has improved, which I am sure has helped decrease the majority of the pain.

I'm only 4 days post, and I've had a little bit of pain across the middle of my back. I'm sure it's from bad posture - I just need to concentrate on sitting & standing up straight, and it'll go away.

I had back pain for about the first week (from slouching due to pain). Now I have no further back pain. In fact, I honestly don't even notice the weight of the implants.

I have a 34 band size, but got 375cc filled to 410- I have had no problems with back pain- I have asthma and was afraid of the additional weight on my chest- it truly is a non issue for me, it feels no different from a weight perspective than my "wanna b a's" that I had before..... I just look and feel a whole lot more balanced. Good luck with your upcomming surgery- sounds like you you will do just fine

The only back pain I had was in the first few weeks when I was sleeping propped up on the couch. I was worried it may be from the weight of the implants. But now that I am back to sleeping in my bed, my back pain has gone away.

I currently have some upper back pain. I don't think it's from the boobs but my posture from the bandages. I was walking hunched over.

CC's and back pain

Thanks, ladies for all your great posts. I feel much better that the size I have chosen won't be a factor in back pain (I have a little bit already due to early osteoporosis). I'll just have to learn to use better posture. I've never had very big boobs (A at best!) so I guess Il'l have to learn how to "handle" C or D's. Merry Christmas to you all and thanks again
