![]() | Do bigger implants mean more risks?
I was wondering if bigger implants have more possibilities of capsular contraction or bottoming out than smaller ones???

HI... I don't think getting bigger implants cause more complications if you body is capable of taking a large implant... I was told the maximum i could get was 380cc (the plan was 410cc but changed during the operation)... because my PS was concerned that i didn't have enough stretch to accomodate a larger implant and this could result in my skin thinning too much and an increased chance of bottoming out etc... My recommendation is to check with your PS on the size that he thinks is the maximum you can go...and if you want less than that it's all good... Rachael |

If you get an implant size your body cant handle than I would assume you'd be more likely to have more complications but some complications may happen no matter what size you get. Which is why it's important to talk with your PS about the size and profile type that best suites your body.

As Rachel said I think it really depends on the person and what their body can support. I'm fairly small...5'4" 123(ish)lbs and I have 460 o/f to 545 w/no complications. It's best to work in conjunction w/your PS in determining your size. Hugs, Jeri |

My PS would not give me 500cc which is what I originally wanted. I ended up with the closest he could get me to that cc. He did say that there is a greater chance of complications if you get an implant that is not a good fit for your body. Best thing to do is talk to your PS and ask away.
