What do augmented breasts look like over time??
Hi Ladies!
I was wondering what do augmented breasts look like over time? Like 5+ years or so. I am considering getting 600 cc's. I was wondering if larger implants drop more or still look as pretty as when you first get them. The ps I just spoke to warned me that over time they are not as attractive. She also said that I will not enjoy them because they would be too big and uncomfortable. She also highly suggested that I get Silicone. Would like your thoughts or info on any experiences you have. My consultation is not until October 21st but I am trying to get as much info as possible before I make my decision on which ps. Thanks so much! I also have a consult with another ps on Sept 8.

Gravity is always going to play a part in changing their appearance so good support bras are the best way to protect your investment.
I think a mammo before the surgery is a good idea, gives you a look at what was there before the implants and I imagine that might be handy to have if something ever came up down the line. I've heard of some surgeons recommending this, yes. BTW, I don't think you're going to need 600 to get your 34B's to a DD/E range though. I'd say more like in the 450 range if I had to guess.

yes, for sure about the mammogram--at least for women my age. My doctor's office even called the imaging center to ensure that I was up to date instead of taking my word for it. I would assume any woman over 35 would need this done. Did you hear about Christina Applegate? She's 36 and is being treated for breast cancer. She's having a double mastectomy with breast reconstruction to follow. 36! Scary!
Also once you have your implants it's slightly more difficult to pick up abnormalities (about 10%). With the implant under the muscle it is said to be easier to do mammograms since the original breast tissue is on top of the implant instead of underneath. |

Hi,
My PS didn't even want me to get the 450's. He said gravity & your skin will get thinner as you age, etc, etc. = saggy! The way I look at it though, if I was naturally big they would be sagging by now anyway, so I would rather have bigger now & maybe get a lift in a few years if I need it. I just consider it an 'upkeep' expense for the future. And I will deal with it IF & when it happens! If someone talks you into a smaller size, you will probably always feel a bit cheated. Browse around here for a while, and look at a lot of before & afters. I had no idea what size would get me to a 'D' cup before I found this website. Good luck! |

I think this depends to a certain extent on whether you have overs or unders. My understanding is that unders don't sag much: the implants themselves do not stretch out and the under placement doesn't put a lot of weight directly on your natural breast tissue. Any stretching that occurs is just enough to accommodate your implant and no more. Your natural breast tissue might sag over time but that would have happened anyway.
I had 250 unders that did not sag at all for 25 years, but I had very little natural tissue to start out with. I have 500 unders now and I think I am also going to have good luck with this size. hth!

I have heard that over time they might sag (if too big) like normal breasts. When I was at the PS office, the person who was helping me after my consult when we were talking mentioned that. She'd had them done and had seen lots of people who have too (obviously). She says that over time they will be like real breasts, i.e., sag if you aren't careful. I agree a good support bra would help.

Hi! My friend has had her silicone overs for a little over 10 years. She started off with basically nothing. I would have never known that she had implants because they look completely natural. I think she said that she got 300cc. They have a very natural slope and don't really sag..very natural looking.

Keepin' Em
My PS made me promise to take "good care of my investment" the morning he put my 700s in. I don't go braless except to bed and for sex. I had 300s (silicone overs) put in in 1983 and had them for 9 years and they never sagged at all.

My gf has had her implants for alittle over 5 years. She got 450 cc's taking her to a 36D. She recently told me she has normal (small amt) sagging for her age at 45. Just as someone mentioned gravity happens. Though she did wear a sports bra for the first 2 years almost continually as a way to take care of them. She talks about one day getting a reduction, maybe when she is like 55 or 60. She has saline, unders and has never had any problems at all.
As for Mammograms, I also think it's wise especially starting at age 30-35. |

Good thread. I am always thinking what I want now, not how a BA would look down the road. I am trying to figure what size I would like to be, I guess I will start thinking about if to wear a bra all the time too. Thanks!!
