So I thought I was a 34B. That's what I measured myself at with the old school way of measuring under your boobs and adding 5 inches. Well I didn't really think it felt like it should, everything looked okay, I wasn't overflowing the cups but the band didn't sit right up against my ribs and I have heard that most of the support of a bra comes from the band. So I went to a specialty shop and got measured. She measured under my boobs, above my boobs and around my boobs. She came back with a 30DD bra and oh my goodness! I guess I have never worn a bra that fit because nothing has ever felt as good. I DO NOT have big boobs so the DD thing threw me but it's the smallish band that makes for such a large cup size. Here is my theory on why everyone says fake boobs are smaller than natural ones. They aren't. It's just that most women with natural boobs don't bother to go get measured. The only women I know that ever go get measured either have fake boobs or have VERY large real ones. Also, if you go by the old school way of measuring your rib cage and adding five inches then you will most likely get a larger band size and smaller cup size. And yeah, you will be able to get into that bra but it won't be supportive. Anyway, that's just my two cents. If anyone is wondering what 30DD looks like here are some pics. |

Yup, I was more than surprised when I got professionally measured as well. I was wearing 32 band size before. I agree that part of why augmented ones seem bigger is actually that real ones are not sized correctly, but I also think alot of it is because augmented breasts are wider than natural so it takes a larger cup to fit them. As for bra sizes, I had to explain in detail to my PS how I wear an F cup bra and only look like a C cup...... he didn't understand that band size is related to cup size. |

yep, before my breast augmentation I was wearing a 32b, sounded normal to me.. I am 2 months post op and just got measured at a 28ff. Yeah. omg is right. But in "normal" size that equates into a...34e. Sooo yep, suprising to say the least, but yeah I won't be screaming my band size from the mountain tops, I'm not going to deal with the non-believers who walk away re-adjusting their ill-fitting bras *giggle*
