...How long does it take to drop and fluff...?

Hi all...Just want to say how much I have enjoyed this site and all the ladies here

So...I had my BA 6 weeks ago...and I have been wondering how long has it taken before the drop and fluff?

My PS had instructed me to NOT wear any kind of support, which I think is funny because some girls here were instructed to NEVER be *without* support...curious what wearing support vs none has to do with drop and fluff...

Thanks

Good question, I myself have not had a BA yet! But I am faithful to JBI and doing as much research as possible! So I hope I can help and then the ladies with the BA's can give more info...
I actually just read on another post, in the General discussion that a study was done saying that 80% BA d&f after or at the 6 week mark, But keep in mind everyone is different, as is the PS.
Ive also read on here from the experience that some of the woman shared is that wearing nothing is helping the d&f along...Letting gravity do its job really. Some people wear the strap and nothing else some wear the strap and the bra some wear the bra some wear none.
I guess it just depends on your boobs, you PS and his method!
I really hoped that help...Hopefully someone with a BA could help better goodluck!

Hi there and congrats on your boobies!
As we all learn pretty quickly here on JBI -
everybody is different!
Generally the changes can take anywhere up to a year!
The instructions from your PS - this would mean in he believes your implants need gravity to assist with the dropping into the pockets, many of us need or have needed the opposite assistance..
(firm support from the bra) for some of us - IMO without this support we run the possible risk of
"Bottoming out"....
Fluffing should then start after your implants have dropped into place!
Wishing you well!

What Bebby mentions is correct- it can take a long time for some women. I actually looked for a thread about this just now, because I realized my finally "fluffed", and I had my surgery at the end of last August! I actually thought something was wrong, because they suddenly felt different, but then I realized they're just a little more full now. I actually have almost normal feeling again, too- I was dealing with a bit of numbness in a couple of small areas, and now the muscles have relaxed. Finally!

Hello there,

I'm now 17 days now & just starting to drop.

Everyone is different so I'm holding out by the 3mth mark to completely D&F.

Everyday I see a different change but a slow one. Just after my surgery I was completely numb on my right side boob - this is now back to normal. Just remember that your muscles have been traumatized through surgery and need to relax enabling the implant to drop - everyone recovers at a different rate - being patient for this to happen is annoying... LOL...

I have a sports bra & advised to wear this 24/7 by my PS for at least one month.. which, is now driving me nuts... LOL... Eager to bust out and wear a nice bra.

xxx

Hello! Speaking for myself, I seemed to drop first and then fluff a bit later! I really noticed dropping about 4-5 weeks post-op. It seemed like the fluffing began at about the 6 week point and they are STILL changing! Hope this helps!

My ps said he recommends different garments for different people because I asked him about compression bands and he said I would not need them.
I am having my surgery June 3 and hopefully they will be mostly f&d'd by the time I go on vacation Aug 15!

Great post! Seems to me in varies so much. My PS and his nurse (she had hers done 18m ago) advised not to invest a lot (just buy a couple) in any bras until at least 6 months PO and that it can take a full year to see the final result. I have a feeling that I'll be sharing all the ladies frustration on here as well! Hope it all turns out for you!

My PS says no bra of any kind, no bathing suit top, no tank top with built-in, etc. for 6 weeks post-op. I never had frankenboob really and have done some D&F, but my PS said at my 1 month post-op appt that "both breasts have quite a bit of dropping and filling out to do". I can tell from the side view more than the front view that I have some D&F still, and I'm 6 weeks post-op.

Some PSs (mine included) say nothing at all for 6 weeks, so I think you're okay!
