How accurate are rice boobs?
So I've done the rice test, and I've found a size I like the look of. The question is, for those of you who've got your boobies and had used the rice test, how accurate is the test? Did you come out much the same size as you looked when you were wearing the rice boobs?

From my experience the rice test was pretty much spot on... I was getting unders so i added an extra 15% to accomodate for unders compared to getting overs.
(so if you are getting 360cc... then take 15% off 360cc which is 54cc which equals 306cc...so that will look like 306cc worth of rice) Oh yeah.. and i did the rice test always in a sports bra... not a normal bra. |

Yes the rice test felt completely ridiculous but very accurate. I put them under a sports bra, then put on a 32C bra and tried on some different clothes. It gave me a good idea of what to expect, and also so I wouldn't be surprised!

hey ladies, when you wear the sports bras is it only if you are getting unders? Or does it matter?

I worked on the 15% rule to accomodate for getting unders. It's not an exact science, but it gives a good indication. Rachael |

I did the rice test last nite and they looked fab, I used 1 and 3/4 cups of rice which should equal 417CC? would this be correct? hope so.does anyody know how many grams of rice = 420cc?? as a cup could be slightly not acurate.
I have got my consult on Wednesday so im going to take my rice boobs with me!! i have also taken loads of pics with me wearing them in clothes to show my consultant. I am a 36a at the moment and wore a sports bra to accomodate the rice boobs. which filled it out nicely and the bra is a 36D. as i hope to be a D post Op. |

well yeah i guess...but i had some breast tissue b/c of my 36" band width, it wasnt enough to fill an A cup, plus i didnt use the rice with a sports bra...its all vague calculations really but certainly came very close to the outcome, just not exact

The rice test was VERY useful for deciding how big I wanted to look, and communicating visually to my PS how big I wanted to look. But it was NOT a particularly accurate measure of how many ccs I would need to get the look I wanted.
I told me PS how many ccs were in my chosen rice sizers. He wrote it down. But he gave me 50ccs LESS than my sizers. And yet, guess what? I ended up just slightly BIGGER than with the sizers. IMO talking ccs with the PS is NOT a very effective way of communicating the size you want. The same amount of ccs gives different women SUCH different sizes. I also think it's unnecessary. I think communicating visually gives the PS a better idea of what you want. Then let him translate that into ccs! I communicated visually in two different ways. First, I wore the rice sizers in my bra under my clothes to my pre-op, and told the PS, "This is what I want to look like in clothes." He took pics of me wearing the sizers, clothed and just in my bra. (I wore my sizers inside my usual bra, not a sports bra. It was a 34B slightly padded underwire bra). Second, I gave him pics of women who have had BAs, one showing "too big," one "too small," and one "just right." My PS called them the Goldilocks Pictures. LOL! (IMO it is more effective to bring just one of each. Narrowing my choices down to one required me to get much clearer about the look I wanted. And IMO it was easier for him to pay attention to just one of each.) BTW, I also asked my PS: once he knows what size a woman wants, how much unpredictability there is about what size she'll end up. He said half a cup size, up or down, usually up. I am very happy with my size. HTH

I had fun with the rice sizers. Started with less rice and kept adding more till I thought it was too much, and then backed off. It gave me an idea of how I wanted to look. I took pics and took and rice boobs into PS office with me. We didn't talk cc's, just how I wanted to look. I also wore the rice boobs almost all the time, so I would get used to the look, and people would get used to seeing me with "boobs." Still, I ended up pretty close in cc's to what the rice was. I guessed I'd get 330-350 cc's and ended up with 360. What will that give me? I don't know yet, but I already think I will be very pleased with it. So I'd say the rice has it's uses, but don't depend on it to give you exact info. Have fun with it!

Ok, I work in a PS office, and I have the abilty to play with the sizers all the time.... I tried on 350's, and they seemed ridiculously big. Then I tried in 325, and they seemed good. But, I am getting unders, so that would mean, I would need to subtract 15%, which would only leave me with 276 something. Thats seems awfully small, no? So, what would you do? Go with the 350's- which would really be 300's? Um... am I making sense to anyone else but me... haha....

Rice Bag Expert!!!
As most of you know, I had one implant taken out...so I think, if you girls will excuse my boldness, that I have become the Rice Bag Expert here!! Meaning, I used the same "test bags" I used pre-BA to fill my otherwise empty bra cup...and it is perfect!
So, I guess I would say, yes....the test is quite accurate. BTW, I have overs. Over. oh, whatever! |
