![]() | Reconciling secret dreams w/reality
Had my consult last week and told the ps that I wanted to be fairly conservative (partly because my dh wants to protect me from people talking, he's in a public position) and partly because I don't relish the idea of springing a shocking change (especially on grown children--I haven't told them, don't know if I will). But deep down I have a secret desire to be a D which actually isn't that big with my height. Add to that the fact that I have no idea what 375's will give me. I have some tissue, but the upper pole is very empty. I don't want to regret either way, but honestly I'd rather err on the side of a little too big than a little too small. Thankfully I'm far enough out that I can dialog with my ps. The practical side of me says "go conservative" the secret side of me says "go bigger." My dh definitely urges conservative and I want to take him into consideration. He was pretty much against a breast augmentation until I explained it as reconstructive surgery for my body, then he has been extremely supportive. What are your thoughts on how to reconcile? I feel torn. |

I think you should go with what you truly want. I haven't had my breast augmentation yet but from what I've read on here, a D cup really isn't that big (esp. if you're used to having no boobs!) and you should be able to either play them up or down (ie hide them with certain clothes). I am the same as you, would rather be a bit too big than a bit too small.. and be wanting a redo straight away. It's your body and you have to live with your boobs every day, I think to be truly happy with the results of the surgery you have to trust yourself and go with what you know in your heart you want. 375cc is a good size, I think you'd be a C or D and I think you'll be able to hide them if you wish. Have you tried rice sizers? Then you can try your clothes on over the top. I tried on 350cc in the PS office and tried my work top on over the top and you couldn't even tell, I was surprised. Good luck! |

I suggest looking through many pictures to see exactly what a D cup augmented breast looks like and try to find those pics on women close to your height and weight. You are tall so maybe it will not look as full as you would like. Although it is wonderful that you are taking your husband's wishes into consideration, please make sure to put your wishes and desires first. You are the one that will be going through the surgery and will be coping with the recovery process. You don't want to go through all that and then not be happy bc you feel small. Good luck to you and hope your wishes come true. |

Get the Ds, hon. It's your body, and you have to be happy. No point in putting out all the money for surgery if you're always going to wish you'd gone bigger. I started out thinking I would go for a C, but really wanting a D. When I finally got to have the surgery I went for the Ds. I'm so glad I did, and you will be too. They aren't that big. I can hide them really easily, or show 'em off just as easily. It's all about the bras and clothes you chose. With my DH, I started showing him after pictures without telling him what the ccs or bra sizes were. He always liked the Ds best...and usually thought I was showing him Cs! Men don't know. They hear D and think Pamela Anderson!!! LOL! When I finally told him I'd been showing him Ds he was totally okay with me going that size because he had a more realistic idea of what it was.

You all are right. Come to think of it, the 5 photos I showed the ps were all D's and he said I would end up in the range of the photos. I just now remembered that. When I showed him the one photo of a C that my dh liked, we both thought it was too small. I can see that how you dress and what bra you wear will make a difference on being able to hide them or show them off. Why, oh why, do I feel like I need *permission* from others to get what I truly want! I have a sneaking suspicion that my dh will love whatever I get! He's always said he's not a boob man but deep down I think they ALL are! |

I was in a really similar situation. I felt obliged to go w/ 371 cc's b/c my family was extremely worried that I would be too big (I am much shorter than you - 5'0"). This put me at like a medium C. But like you, secretly I wanted to be a D. I was really disappointed with the results. You would be surprised how much smaller they look when you're wearing you're everyday clothes. To me, I looked pretty much the same as I had wearing a padded bra pre-breast augmentation. So I got a redo and $7,000 later I am a full C/small D (not sure yet) and I think they look fantastic! They don't look overdone even on me so I wouldn't worry about that. You can easily dress them down but its fun to be able to flaunt the girls from time to time. Keep in mind that you are doing this for you and not your hubby. As much as you love him, you will have to wear them around on your body so do what you truly want. I wish I had known all of this info before my first breast augmentation but the most important thing is I ended up w/ exactly what I want.

I think 375 would be conservative on you since you are taller, I don't think going bigger would be a bad idea for you. I've heard from a lot of people (I don't have mine yet) that they can be easily concealed in clothing. So when your in the public eye you could cover them up.

Oh sweetie, I am in your EXACT situation. In my heart of hearts I want to be a D or DD. I can't help it, I love voluptuous breasts! My DH on the other hand is terrified of me going too big. I had almost considered telling the PS to go larger at the last minute just so DH would think "Oops, how did they get that big?" ![]() I started doing the whole picture thing though. Showing him shots of girls with larger breats and not telling him the size. Of course, I would find pics of girls with them dressed down and not in full on cleavage bras. When he's say those are great, then I'd spring the size on him. I think I have him worked down now. What I'm worried about is him seeing me in the sizers. When I made a rice one he kinda freaked about how big it was. Of course, I told him that since I was going under the muscle, it wouldn't be that big and that I had no idea if I was even doing the sizer right! As other people have said, in the end, it's your body and you should do what you feel comfortable with. Whether that is getting the size you want or taking your DH's opinion into consideration. Either way, I'm sure you're going to love them and that you will end up looking fabulous! |

I too waited till my children were grown & still haven't told 1, but augmented breast don't look as big as real & you are tall. I would google "breast augmentation w/clothes on" thats what my dh & I did when I was deciding on size it does make a huge difference than when you see them naked. You have to do whats right for both of you, your a team.

Hun I would also say go for the size you wish to achieve bc it is your body ad you should be happy with the outcome considering the money etc. Go for the D if the PS says it would be possible, it is better to feel like hiding them sometimes than to regret they are not fuller :-)

A D cup isn't that big especially if you're tall, its not like you want G cups or anything, like the girls said its your body! Maybe go for 375-410s x

You know what you want - GET IT. These breasts are so easy to hide in clothes. As long as you dress the part for public outings with your huband, nobody will know and its noboby's business. | |

So true--thanks so much. I don't want to regret after going through all this. I tried on *empty* Cs and Ds and in clothes, the Ds looked much better with my height. So I will make that wish known to the ps and we'll see what we come up with. Thanks so much everyone!

I'm quite a bit shorter than you, 5.3'. I got 450HP and I am now a 32D but it really doesn't look that big at all. I certainly don't look like I have implants in clothes. If somebody does ask, like your kids or close friends you can tell them you got a new bra ![]() There is no point in putting yourself through this process and not getting what you want. It is a lot to go through not to be happy in the end. I would say get what you want or do not do it. If you don't choose something at least close to what you want you may resent your husband and will cause other problems. When I was recovering all I could think is that nobody should do this unless they really really want to, and that what a shame it would be for anyone to go through this and not be happy with their results in the end. Also you would be surprised at how much it may not even be an issue, even if you are in the public eye. This is a very common procedure now and it’s not a scandal to do something nice for yourself. |

Ha-ha! New bra--that's a great line! You all have posted such great comments that are helping me get clear on what I want. My husband will be fine with whatever I do, because it is not my goal (or dream) to go really big. Just not so conservative that I'm disappointed or feel too small. I appreciate your insight! |

I would say go for the D's because they dont look that overly big. I wear a 36 d bra and even with a tight shirt on they still dont look that big. Also implants look smaller then natural breast..a d will look more like a C ..which i think i do.
