Does profile type change cup size?

Or does it just look different/turn out a different shape?

What would be the difference between a 360 HP and a 360 mod profile? Projection and upper pole fullness? Would you wear the same size bra with each? If your breast is wide enough for the moderate profile, why would you choose HP - just if you want to go bigger and can't take more width?

I want to be sure I'm understanding all this before my pre-op on Monday. I want a full C, without upper pole fullness.

Its a very good question ...I would say mods give more width than HP(not necessarily a whole cup size but more width), but im not sure...what i did want to add though is that i had HPs purely b/c ps said to, but the upper pole fullness does go, it leaves a slope, and now mine are wider than they were to start with...so if i had had mods say, i think they wouldve been too wide for my frame, plus i had lost volume over the years having the babies, so had some tissue under the nipple, so needed the HPs to give that back..when I looked up my ID for my implants it gives all the measurements of the implants like projection and diameter...i do honestly think in my case he did make the right choice. Its good to go in with as much info as you can, but you must remember these ps's do this day in and day out and they see the results of their ops weeks and months down the line, so have gathered the knowledge and experience in foreseeing the future as far as how the implants will settle and how our bodies will accomodate them, so always be prepared for the fact that what you have chosen may not be what they recommend

I completely agree with Anne. These surgeons are experts, and each individual is soooo different. I was really worried about HPs but am very glad I got them. Anything wider would've been way too wide and made me look disproportionate.

Listen to your PS when they make a reccomendation. He ended up putting Mod Plus in me because I am soooo small and I could not handle the wideness. He thought HP's would be too much on me. They know what they are doing, trust them.

I would say yes they do, purely on my own experience... I had VHP's as my PS said it was the only way to get me to the cup size I wanted... I don't know how that works, but I figured he knew best, and I did get the result I was hoping for. I don't know if I'd have gt that with mods or mod+

I agree this is a very good question. My PS chose mods for me with my 1st ba. He felt they would work the best to give me the width I needed. When he did my surgery he said the most that would fit was 275cc and I liked the width on them but was disappointed with my size.

When I had redo I went with 375cc mod+ because it was the only way for me to get more cc's and keep the width I needed. PS agrees it was the way to go. If I had gotten HP I would have had to go up to something like 600 cc's to get the width to match and I just felt like this would be too big on me. I would have loved the option of 475cc but couldn't get the width to match what I needed. Mod and mod+ were too wide and HP not wide enough.

The shape did not change with mod+. I have a little more projection and upper pole fullness than with mods but it's very slight. (probably because I only went up 100cc) They are just a bigger version of what I had before.

I don't know if I'll confuse things or not... but here's my understanding.

My PS measured my breast width diameter and said I needed at least 400 ccs in a mod profile. Meaning that anything under 400 would be too narrow for me. Since I didn't want 400... I pleaded with him to let me get 350. So, his compromise was to get 350ccs in a low profile. This was so that I could keep the same width with fewer ccs. So imagine, if I wanted HP.... I'd probably have to get at least 450 or something like that.

So, in a way, profile does change your size. Since I'd be much bigger with HPs (but that would be more ccs also). Your breast width diameter plays a very important role so that you don't end up with wide or narrow boobs in comparison to your body structure. I suggest you go with what your PS recommends in terms of profile. As long as you're confident that he/she understands your desired outcome.

I agree with Joy. Your PS starts with deciding on the correct width of the implant -- it should be slightly narrower than your breast base width. If you get an implant that is too narrow or too wide it will not look natural.

THEN you decide on profile, based on how much bigger you want to be.

Lets say your breast base width is 12 cm. An HP implant that is 11 cm wide will hold more ccs than an 11 cm wide mod-plus profile, which in turn will hold more ccs than an 11 cm wide mod profile.

So your PS wouldn't let you choose between a 360 HP and a 360 mod. Either the 360 cc HP is too narrow for your breast base, or the 360 mod is too wide for your breast base.

Regardless of profile, as long as your implant is narrower than your breast base width, you should end up with flat or nearly flat upper poles. I have HPs, and my upper poles are already nearly flat. Ask your PS whether you have a good chance of getting that look with the ccs you are getting.

Some women who like having upper pole fullness credit this to getting HPs, but I think it is actually simply because they got bigger implants relative to their breast base width. The implant is too big to drop down as far.

That was an interesting post...

I got 400cc Mod+ Co-Gel. I remember the day of surgery, My PS had two boxes on the table of the prep room ( I'd previously been given the time to decide if wanted 400cc or 450 cc) so the day of, I told him I wanted 450, as I really didnt wanna have any regrets of not going bigger. But when he started to make the "marks" on my chest with his felt pen, he felt that 400cc would suit me best - and commented that the 450cc would make me appear too big. To this day I wish I had said no thanks, gimme the big ones! But, on that note, I have alot of "side boob". I would prefer that upper pole that everyone talks about. But mine really are quite wide on me, and i suppose going bigger would have only given me more "side boob"?

Anyone, share similar feelings? Any one considering re-do for that reason?

hi Tennee
yes, i share your feelings
i totally like the width of mine.. but not the projection
i feel like mine are too wide but not "full" enough
i'm not sure what this "upper pole" fullness is you all are talking about, but I guess it simply means that it's having more fullness on top of the brest??

I like it when they hang and look natural, but if they can hang and have some fullness on top, i guess that'd be nice

I am thinking of having a redo, mainly cause my left is uneven with relation to my righty.. the shape is off...
and if i do, i will definitely go bigger

i was thinking of getting Med Plus if I have a redo
and looking at the table of comparison on the main site, i see that to get the same width i have not, i'd have to get 550ccs in the Med Plus

I do think this width is good (and minimal) for me - any less would look strange, as I am wide shouldered i guess

ANybody has any idea how much of a change I can expect going from 350 MODs to 500 or 550 MOD Plus?? The base will be the same and the projection seems so slightly bigger (i think 1 cm more) for all those extra ccs!!!!
