![]() | Pocket revision for more cleavage with redo?
When I told my ps I wanted more cleavage with my redo, he said he could cut my existing pocket closer to the middle and put sutures on the outsides of the pocket to push my larger implants closer. Has anyone had this done? What were the results, and would you recommend it? I am nervous about developing symmastia, although the surgeon assured me it wouldn't occur. Also, could the revision cause my nipples to point outwards if the implants are closer together? tia.

Yeah that can give you symmastia but if your surgeon is skilled and can do it then why not. I know my surgeon gave me lots of cleavage only cuz he had to in order to fit my implants it. I am sure it would be fine and you will look amazing!!!

I just saw a surgeon that said that if any other PS says that he can do this, run the other way! My implants are 2 fingers apart and I hate it, but he said that if they do this where they cut and make the space smaller between your implants, it always rips and you end up with a uniboob because your implants will naturally want to pull together. He said that the skin in between your breasts is too thin and it will rip if it is messed with. I want mine closer together too, but he said even if I go up in size the distance won't change (unless you have a bra on, of course). Good luck!

I saw my PS this morning and asked him about this. He said I shouldn't be at risk for symmastia. He said while it can be caused just by overdissecting the pocket alone, it usually happens in ladies who also have tight skin (basically, the implants are bigger than the skin will allow, so it lifts). He said my skin is very elastic (thank you children) and will have no problem with a larger implant and widening the pocket a bit. I said I would think about what I wanted and would let him know the morning of the surgery. I don't know if I want to risk it, but I do trust him. Hmmm, we'll see...

I would say : "Go for it" ! The way your surgeon creates pockets and the place where he creates them is an essential point and makes ALL the difference ! and good luck for tomorrow !

I say go for it too. I'm basically having the same thing done soon. My ps is tightening my pockets on the outside, switching to hp's overfilled by 100cc to create more upper pole. He is also releasing my pec muscle a bit because they push my implants out to the side. Good luck girly!

Thank you for the encouragement! I did have him tighten up my cleavage, and so far, no signs of symmastia. I don't think he did anything with the outer pocket area because the implant completely takes up my chest and a bit under my arms. I can't wait for the swelling to go down so I can really see the results.
