![]() | Overs vs. Unders :)
Okay girls, I had an epiphany last night lol...since the beginning of my research process i have just had my heart set on unders. I think it has something to do with the PS on all of my consults recommending that to me...but anywho, I have been totally stressing size and not being able to achieve what I want with 350cc (the max PS will give)...so last night i was on JBI and though "What if I got OVERS???" Would that help with size? Will that make 350's bigger in the end? Etc....so I need you alls opinions! I plan to go round, silicone, 350cc's. Questions: 1. Will overs make your breasts larger than unders? 2. Is there more risk of problems with overs? 3. Is the rumor of overs causing rippling true? Or do you get rippling either way? *This is important because I have NO tissue now, so I am definitely at risk for rippling* Any info will be appreciated....TIA!!!!

If you have absolutely no breast tissue I woulnt not really recommend overs..especially if you are getting saline. Ripples are not caused by getting overs, but its easier to see them if you get overs. If you get silicone it decreases the risk a little bit, but it can still happen. Overs will make you look bigger. When you go under the muscle you lose some of the volume. I think there are a few increases in statistics with overs when it comes to CC and stuff like that, but in reality it could happen in either situation. However I'm an unders girl and got 275cc and couldnt be happier. I chose unders because it is said to be easier for getting mamograms when you're older, I felt like I was getting more support of the implant with unders, and I wanted to reduce my risk of rippling because I did have little breast tissue and was going with saline. I hope I helped a little! |

You should listen to your PS and go with unders. With little breast tissue is is the right decision for you to do unders as, yes, there is probably less chance of rippling. That being said...it is YOUR $$$$ and if you want overs you will be able to find a PS to do that.....but make sure you trust him! Make the decision that you are most comfortable with.

If you go with unders, I wouldn't worry too much about loosing size. My experience has been that once my muscles softened up, I ended up the same size I picked using implant sizers.

I think the whole thing about losing size when you get unders is only true a little while post-op because the muscle is so tight and pushes the implant down flat. But after it stretches out and you're healed up I really don't see how you could lose any % of cc's, I think you'll end up the same size if you go with unders or overs. If your ps recommends unders because you don't have much tissue to start with, you should take his advice otherwise you might be able to 'see' the outline of the implant if you get overs.

I strongly, strongly suggest you go with unders - for one, the surgeons you have talked to have suggested it, and also, you're starting out with no tissue 1. Will overs make your breasts larger than unders? - No. In my opinion, you don't lose size going under the muscle. At first, yes, the muscles contract the implant and make it appear smaller but not that I'm healed, my 400s look the same as the 400 sizers looked. There are mixed opinions on this, though 2. Is there more risk of problems with overs? - Not directly. But, overs can make it more difficult to read a mammogram. Since you're starting with no tissue, it's very possible that the edges of the implant will be visible through the skin, and so will rippling 3. Is the rumor of overs causing rippling true? Or do you get rippling either way? *This is important because I have NO tissue now, so I am definitely at risk for rippling* - Rippling can happen with unders or overs. The difference is that with overs, you get more of a chance of the rippling being covered up. Go with unders. Starting with no tissue, I don't think you'd be happy with overs. |

![]() | Yeah I don't think you lose size w/unders alot say that but I don't think it's true. Go with what your ps recommends and if you want them bigger instead of going w/over just get more cc's right lol ! |

The biggest size i can go is 350cc so i am trying to achieve maximum boobage with 350cc's! But after all of these wonderful answers I feel much more confident going with what i had originally planed on *unders*. I must have had my heart set on them for a reason and it only makes sense with my body type and lack of tissue. *THANK YOU ALL AGAIN SO MUCH!!!*

I go with the unders vote. I've had three breast augmentation's....had hardly any tissue before breast augmentation.....never had any rippling intill my last breast augmentation (went with 750 cc) and it is very minor on one side and only when i bend over with arms extended. I really do believe that unders have major advantages when you start with tiny, tiny breasts.

I agree with most everyone else, I would go with under too. I started out with no tissue and my ps recomended unders to help deminish the rippling, I have some rippling but it is not bad it, only when I feel for it or when I bend over. I also got silicone to help deminish the chance of rippling. I have seen some great results with overs but the ladies usualy started out with more tissue. Good luck!!

ok, i think a lot of doctors will argue about this. what my PS said KINDA makes sense though haha. if you put two books under a muscle Vs Over .. how in the HELL is it going to "lose CCs" ? Its literally impossible if you think about it, unless its leaking haha. i too believe that your muscle will be tight for the first few months, and you may even lose some "volume" as in because the implant is being pressed upon, the implant may be forced to go some different places than just OUT (may have more roundness than projection, etc, until the muscle loosens). idk. im torn too!

according to your weight and height i wouldn't recommend you to go over, especially when you don't have that much breast tissue. If I were you I would go under the muscle, they look and feel more natural.
