Most PS's like to stay within 1" over the BWD or less. As long as you make it clear to your PS that you do NOT want him/her to disect the medial (cleavage area) muscle to make the extra room it'll be fine. They need to make the extra room for the implant on the OUTER sides, to avoid symmastia risks. Hope that makes sense. Edited to add: You could just use high profile in the same cc's without going over too.

I dont know too much on this issue but I have read some ladies stories on having gone a little extra out of their BWD with their implant,I have seen pics too and boobies have looked great so PS's are willing to go out a bit..i dont know exactly how far out but I think 1cm would be just fine.I personally wouldnt risk more than a cm.Good luck with what decision you come to in the end.I am quite interested in this issue myself,So it be good to see other ladies responses

I just feel like I am the only one with a small BWD =( Has anyone went that much over their BWD? if so could you please send a FR so I can see your pics. |

![]() ![]() | I've heard up to 1cm over too...you look at a ruler and see how absolutely minimal 0.1cm is...I'm sure it's not going to be any different than going 1cm over (which I plan to do). And your doc seems to think it's okay... |

I'm thinking about getting HP's because of my small chest width..My BWD is 12cm and although HPS are good for projection..I wouldn't mind a little side boob which I can achieve if I go a little over my BWD? if I am going under the muscle then I guess there is less chance of seeing the implant if I do decide to go out a little?..oh I don't know just a theory..tho I am tired so I dont know if my theory is right?..maybe I should just get mods? ooh ..light bulb above head moment..maybe I should look into Mod+?

I think you should be fine but it really depends on your skins elasticity too. Theres only a certain point that your skin can stretch without getting stretch marks and look distorted. Some girls can deff. pull off biggers implants, and some girls cant because of their skin and weather or not the implant will fit. I think I was like 12 cm or something the measurement of my boob not sure if thats the BWD....but I have a 650 silicone HP inside me and I think its deff more than 12 cm....your plastic surgeron really wont know until he sees you on actual surgery day and opens you up and is able to put the implant in. Good luck!

Maybe we should start a post about girls who went more than 1-2cm over their BWD, and if they've had any problems or complications?

For those with salines who went over their BWD: do you notice any rippling at all? I want to go over by a fraction of a centimeter, but I'm extremely worried that my existing tissue won't cover it, and I'll get rippling. Thanks. |

My first breast augmentation was with 325ccs (saline) and that fit my BWD..it was exactly what was recommended on the Mentor chart. my 2nd breast augmentation was a little more than 1cm over my BWD (550 HP silicone)..they looked beautiful..they just went out wider a little, but not noticeable in clothes. I just got home from getting my 3rd breast augmentation, which is 750ccs and 2.5cms over my BWD. My PS was hesitant at first to do it..but I begged and pushed b/c I wanted them bigger. So, now they are even wider..but i like when the boob goes out to the side a little..it actually makes you look skinnier/more of hour glass shape. So, as long as you dont mind a little side boob...i think its fine to go over....just make sure they dont put them close together. Whatever you decide..just be happy and do what makes you comfortable!! Good luck! |

thanks for the reply everyone! I went 1.1 cm over my BWD. I love the fact that I did go over. Even though it's still the beginning, they look great on me. I can't wait for them to D&F =)

I went 2cm over my BWD. I think that was pushing for me. My surgeon said because I was unders i could get away with it. I am still waiting to see if they settle a little better but would have felt a little better going closer to my BWD. I just wasnt able to get the projection and CCs i wanted in silicone if I had gone smaller.

The PS I am using doesn't like to go over the BWD much at all. The size I got them to agree to is maybe 0.2 over on each side. They mentioned to me that on thin girls (or girls with not a lot of tissue in the chest) from the side you can sometimes really see the edge of the implant if you go over and it's not a nice look. The nurse told me about a girl she saw a wedding this past weekend who was dancing and put her arms up and all you could see was the edge and it was obvious to everyone it was the implant. I have seen some over and look AMAZING...so I think it's something that varys and is a chance you take or don't take. I am tempted to maybe try it. |

I'm fairly thin with little breast tissue, and went about 1 cm over. I'm so happy I did! I think it gave me the cleavage and side boob I wanted with no complications. You've got some breast tissue already and a 29" ribcage--I bet you'll be beautiful!
